Paint Thinner used to revive dead motherboards?

paxenxa na mga guys ndy ako marunong mag visaya.. but i want to ask what is good for possible reviving dead motherboard "lacquer thinner or paint thinner"? sorry im confuse other who comments here.. and i don't have air blower to dry the thing easily. Can i use electricfan or heat of sun to dry it up? advance thanks you for ur help..

basta thinner.. mas matapang ang Lacquer, better use paint thinner.. but be advised, some of the prints at your board might get erased..

Parang Alcohol yan, hintayin mo nalang mag dry. Usually, these chemicals will just clean solder flux.

sa mga naghisgot about murag alcohol, truth is,wa moy angay ikabalaka kay ang gamit sa paglimpyo sa mga board on production kay pure ipa(isopropyl alcohol), we use it to clean boards nga sayop ang print sa solder or nahugaw gikan sa flux coats. ang solder flux, purpose ana kay aron mopilit ang mga gagmay nga components nga nahiwi pag mount after soldering machine. mao nay gamit namo if hiwi ang mounting sa machine sa gagmay nga parts.
now, ang paghugas if you have pure ipa, wa nay adverse effect sa board kay og naa pa, wa na unta nay mga print ang board inig abot sa consumers kay naay uban nga sigehan man namo og hugas sa production area.
With regards to the thinner thing, dili na siya pareha kakuyaw gamiton as others have thought it to be, mapapas ang print ana sa stickers lang but not on the board. electrostatic thing? suwayi daw og wisik og tubig inyo board bisan wa pa na makaagi hugas og thinner kay the result will still be the same.
Don't blame the thinner in that case kay bisag sinaw pa na siya mo ground gyud na if naay metal or tubig which are both conductors.

nice read. i used isophrophyl alcohol(70% katong green cross ) in cleaning my mobo and vcard.
wala ra mai problems pero i won't do that again hehe.

OT ko ha pero mejo related lang gamay:

@dartzed how about for cleaning purposes lang? makatantang ba ang medical grade alcohol sa varnish coating sa mobo or vcard?

lesson learned :

dili itaug ug basa pa sa lacquier thinner.

work in an open area.

in case of fire..DO NOT ROUSE with WATER...

hehehe adto palit sa drugstore ingna nga 100% IPA...

most common panglimpyo sa semicon 100%IPA, 100%Ethyl, 100%acetone... sakit sa dughan after preventive maintenance heheheh....

alcohols won't harm your board or components on your board. make sure it's a 100% pure aron dali mauga. what we do sa production sa una kay if board lang amo limpyuhan kay paugahon ra na siya sa hangin. for components, after alcohol, i bake na siya sa oven para mauga and use it again especially mga ic kay mahal na siya. that would mean nga walay problema if we think of coating sa board nga matangtang. we even use toothbrush para malimpyo siya with alcohol
