wohh.. i dint expect this thread will go like this. Anyway, hitch22 its fine when youre so negative about this. You have laid out all possible reasons you have. Nice research too! Well, this is your chance to actually talk to Kiyosaki's student, Jerome San. There then you could tell him about how disgusted you are. Right? PM me so i could reserve a ticket for you.

I watched most of the vid. Some of the things are not even with accordance to the things he wrote in his book, that's a big let-down, some speakers are even rude. I guess it would be better to wait for the comments of the istoryans that will attend the seminar this coming 12 & 13.

Of course, you can't substitute school books with his books and toys. But it would be interesting to see somebody passing any accounting, taxation etc. exams by reading his book. hehe. If you pay attention to some of the comments here, they usually refer to his book as an eye opener and nothing much more (as of yet).

But I understand your point. And maybe some people who read his book/s, got inspired and just wanted to see if they could learn more through the seminar. It's 2000 pesos for an overnight seminar, I guess it's worth taking the risk. If they get offered with more training packages then it's upto them if they would sign up or not.

Well, you're right. I've moved from being skeptical to being negative. That is so true. I don't want any network marketing schemes or "how to get rich" seminars/books/tapes/board games...especially anything with a "Rich Dad" brand to it. I don't want to touch any one of those money-sucking products with a 10-foot pole.

Thanks for the invitation, by the way. But I'm happy where I am. Therefore, that makes me a poor candidate for Rich Dad's fall guy. The Rich Dad marketing strategy directs its appeal to the working wounded, those who have been laid off, those who are unemployed, those disenchanted with school and the conventional system, and those who are struggling financially in general. People who exploit other people in their moments of weaknesses actually...for lack of a better word...sickens me to my stomach.

PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS TO ME: Who's getting rich off Rich Dad?

EXPLAIN RUSS WHITNEY INTERNATIONAL, a company with a checkered past and well-known for its run-ins with US regulators.

EXPLAIN TIGRENT, INC. (Which handles Rich Dad Education) WITH AN "F" RATING AT THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU IN THE U.S.

YOU GUYS HAVE A LOT OF EXPLAINING TO DO. BUT I DON'T WANT TO HEAR PATHETIC EXCUSES. WATCH THAT VIDEO...AND TELL ME YOU'RE PROUD TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH THAT!

    For shame!

I'd watch the whole video if I were you. But I understand that's moot, at this stage.

Like I've said, I encourage people to make up their own minds. If what I've laid out thus far has been all false to you, that's fine. After all, who am I to say to you how you should spend your money? JUST DO IT. Don't let me stop you.

If I'm missing out on a big opportunity, then it's my loss. I'll live with that. But as far as I'm concerned, just leave me out of it.

Well, I've said just about enough. Time for me to split and leave you guys with some parting words.

    1) If you want to find something wrong about brand X, you don't ask the brand X salesman.

    2) You may want to rationalize Kiyosaki's books-- despite its ambiguity, lacking in specifics and suspiciously self-promoting its board game and other products (just like an infomercial)-- and say to yourself that you were at least able to get some useful guidelines like "you should get a financial education" or "you should not spend more than what you earn" or "ultimate investor is what you should aim for". But that's like buying a flashlight that doesn't work and saying to yourself "Well, it does make a good hammer because of its tough head." That's just missing the point, doesn't it?

    3) Whether you should go to a Rich Dad seminar or not is none of my business. PHP 2,000 for a 2-day bootcamp which also covers meals and accommodation is cheap. It's a can't-miss proposition, any way you slice it. Don't worry about what I've just said here. I could be wrong.

    4) I HOPE REPRESENTATIVES FROM THE RICH DAD COMPANY WOULDN'T TAKE EVERYTHING I'VE SAID HERE AND SPEND A WHOLE DAY EXPLAINING THEMSELVES TO THEIR ATTENDEES AT THE BOOTCAMP. That would be robbing "precious" time from your paying customers, who are more interested in your so-called "techniques" to getting rich...AS IF YOU GUYS REALLY KNOW SOMETHING THAT WE DON'T. HA! I'm willing to miss that event...even for all the tea in China!

    5) I've done my research (with sources ranging from the Wall Street Journal, CNN, ABC News, Canadian Broadcasting News, MSNBC, and many others) and arrived at my own conclusions. Just leave me out of it. Like I've said, I think these guys have a lot of explaining to do.

    6) Finally, even if you choose to ignore/dismiss all my statements, at least watch this video in its entirety: Who's getting rich off Rich Dad? (from the Canadian Broadcasting Corp). I'm still waiting for and am very interested in a reaction from anyone who's watched the whole video. JUST MAKE SURE YOU WATCHED THE ENTIRE VIDEO. What can you say about the victims? What can you say about Kiyosaki's reaction? Does he sound like a guy caught with his hand at the cookie jar? YOU BE THE JUDGE!

para lang gyud dili matabunan ning importante kaayo nga detalye bahin kang Kiyosaki:

Palihug lang ug tan-aw aning video expose nga gikan sa Canadian Broadcasting Corp.: Who's getting rich off Rich Dad?

It's easy to explain Rich Dad, Poor Dad.

    POOR DAD = YOU
    RICH DAD = ROBERT KIYOSAKI

Don't believe me? Watch the video from the link provided above. Remember to watch the whole video, because Kiyosaki's part appears on the last portion of the show.

Enjoy the video. And don't be afraid to post your honest reactions. It's just right for people to know the real score.

    Wala koy gilabanan ani ha...

Ang uban(kanang d sa ulo) kay well educated na sa finance so they don't appreciate the book while most people especially us pinoys are not, so that book will be an eye opener. There's always a catch when there's something so good. It will always lead to buying something to another to another. They might have something solid to sell/teach but at the end of it all, you'll be paying a big premium for it and after that it will never guarantee your success. If maau lng ko mu sales talk, maka explain pa ta ko further about finance but unsaun mn i fell short sa ana na talent -_-! e update lng dri sa kato nang attend para maka learn sd mi dri.

Just a couple of videos which I want to share with you regarding this Rich Dad scam...er, I mean scheme. These sort of tie everything together, so you can get the whole picture of what THIS HOO-HAH is all about.

    1) Remember the link to an MSNBC article exposing the Quixtar/AMWAY scam I posted somewhere in page 2? Anyway, here's the link to that article: In pursuit of the almighty dollar

I also managed to find the Youtube video related to that article. It's a Hidden Camera Investigation feature on DATELINE NBC with Stone Phillips:

    2) And here's a video from the Youtube channel called SuccessWithAmway, where Robert Kiyosaki talks about the merits of Network Marketing. REMEMBER, KIYOSAKI IS A CREATURE OF AMWAY.

Amway - Is Amway the perfect business? Robert Kiyosaki talks more

At clip 5:42, Kiyosaki starts talking about Network Marketing. Before that, he goes on and on about his Quadrants. That's how he usually segues to his AMWAY promotion. And he does a good job weaving those "firewalls", like "DON'T LISTEN TO YOUR NEGATIVE RELATIVES", into his talk...as a good con artist should. That should raise suspicion, if you are a skeptic. I mean, here's a guy who doesn't trust you to be responsible with your judgment, so he substitutes himself to be your "guiding voice", your conscience.

    3) And, lastly, here's the link to the video I've repeatedly asked everyone to watch from start to finish. IF THIS DOESN'T MAKE YOU SUSPICIOUS OF KIYOSAKI AT ALL, THEN YOU'RE THE PERFECT "POOR DAD" THAT WILL MAKE "RICH DAD" (the people with the Rich Dad company) RICHER.

Who's getting rich off Rich Dad?

    ================================================== =========================

These people have a lot of explaining to do.

    • THEY HAVE TO COMMENT ON THE ABOVE VIDEOS
    • THEY HAVE TO EXPLAIN RICH DAD's TIE-UP WITH RUSS WHITNEY INTERNATIONAL, a company with a checkered past and well-known for its run-ins with US regulators.
    • THEY HAVE TO EXPLAIN WHY TIGRENT, INC. (Which handles Rich Dad Education) HAS AN "F" RATING AT THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU IN THE U.S.

To me, I don't need to hear any of their excuses. I rest my case.

If the RICH DAD folks are reading all my posts, I think what I've said thus far should at least make the speaker/organizers more circumspect about pulling off their usual hard-selling tactics for their books, motivational tapes, board games, further seminars, expensive advanced programs...and don't be surprised if they bring up network marketing. If you've watched the videos and read the article, you'll know the modus operandi and you'll recognize it when you see it.

I hope what I've said thus far should at least serve to clear up the hidden mines that might crop up in your upcoming seminar. With that cleared out of the way, have a safe and inexpensive bootcamp!

    Upsy Daisy!

Here's a trivia for you: Guess what program made the MarketWatch's Stupid Investment of the Week in the 2nd week of July 2007?

If you've been following my drift in this thread, it will come as no surprise. That distinction goes to the Rich Dad Education seminar.

Read it all here: MARKETWATCH: Stupid Investment of the Week (for the week ending July 13, 2007).

And most importantly, don't forget to watch the expose video dated January 29, 2010 from the Canadian Broadcasting Corp.: Who's getting rich off Rich Dad?
