Sure ka bai? The world is watching Filipino Nurses nowadays. With this leakage issue, naguba atong reputation. Re-take is the only solution of this problem. Otherwise, the graduates of the school year 2005-2006 who passed Nursing Board Exam will have a hard time convincing the world that he/she did not cheated in the exam. How is that?

Korek bai. Look at Australia. They don't respect your academic qualification even if you are CPA. Thats how they look at us right now tungod aning mga leakage. Paka uwaw ra.

... well, can we hear your idea of a better solution then

here are the numbers: it's not accurate though:

    45, 000 took the exam

    17,000 passed.

.. out of the 17, 000 can you hand pick those "cheaters", the candidates who benifited from the leakage

Dapat lang gyud retake, I pity those who passed due to hardwork nadamay hinoon cla tungod sa "uban" nga mga examiners nga lawgaw ug utok.

.. i saw a phone-interview of Senator Biazon in ANC:

    they have three options:

    1. A full Retake

    2. Partial Ratake, meaning, only those subjects which are leaked out will be retaken.

    3. the oath that took place will be void.

... PRC only worsen the situation by allowing those who passed to take oath, when in fact the entire board exam is clouded with contreversy. Those who took oath still have a problem of credibility, no offense, i for one don't trust any of those 17,000 who passed. We all know that a leakage behaves like wild-fire.

the results of this year's exams should be voided and there should be mandatory retake of the exams to eliminate all doubt...

Duque supports re-take of nursing exams

HEALTH Secretary Francisco Duque is backing a re-take of the nursing licensure examinations given last June as a form of "cleansing act" that will return to the nursing profession its integrity amid corroborated accusations that parts of the test questions were leaked to selected examinees.

"Ang suspetsa hindi maaaring ilibing," he said, adding that while the controversy will not affect in a major way the deployment of Filipino nurses in countries that administer their own licensure exams, like the United States and Japan, the integrity and credibility of Filipino nurses will come under fire in countries which do not.

Among the countries which depend on the local nursing licensure exams is the United Arab Emirates which has an opening for 1.2 million nurses. "Examinations are supposed to guarantee (the skills of workers)," Duque said in an earlier interview.

Duque also said the Board of Nursing members involved in the alleged leakage should "be given a chance to explain" and dealt with appropriate sanctions.

The Court of Appeals has issued a temporary restraining order (TRO) on the August 22 oath-taking of those who passed the 2006 licensure exam pending the resolution of the controversy.

Bad publicity from the alleged leakage has also scuttled any possibility that the US national council on licensure examinations, a requirement for nurses who wish to work in the US, will be given in Manila in the near future. – Czeriza Valencia
