iPad? When did Apple get into feminine products?

From what I can tell, they basically took the ipod touch, made it too big for your pocket, and charged twice as much for it. I was really hoping for something a little more....revolutionary?

I guess we can all agree that this was never meant to replace your iPhone/smart phone/mobile phone. Nor it's replacing your current laptop for that matter. As Steve Jobs said, it's an in-between product. It's an internet/multimedia/e-book reader device in a form of a tablet.

Do we need this? Well maybe not. But then again, since when did Apple made products because people needed it? They've always been about creating stuff that make us want it.

Now as a tablet device, sure they could have included this, added that, and we were a bit disappointed that it didn't. But so was the iPhone right? I remember when they announced that thing, I was very critical bout how it was lacking on features. Looking back at it now though, yeah sure it wasn't the Swiss Army knife of mobile phones. It wasn't everything, but it was something. And look where the iPhone is right now.

The key to the iPad's success won't be because it's super absorbent, or because it can last a day without leakage. Like the iPhone, the key to it's success will rely on both services and applications. Something that Apple does have an advantage compared to other companies that have tried making tablets before. They have iTunes, the App Store, and soon the iBooks. And we just don't know yet how many more content providers they will have on-board in the future. Imagine what developers can do for this product as well.

Look all I'm saying is, I think it's far too early to call this thing an iFail or an iDud. Time will tell that. For now though, just think of the possibilities.

Ra gyud? Why only browse, when you can read e-books (like a real book, by flipping through virtual pages) while listening to your favorite music?

Myself personally I'd rather have my tablet to go for the minimalist approach, with a simple multi-touch interface and without all the baggage of a full blown OS. If I wanna do some real work I already have my laptop for that. I'm not gonna lie, I really wanted this thing to have a webcam and an HDMI port maybe but hey this is Apple were are talking bout here. Overall though I still think the iPad is very slick and I can't wait to get my hands on it.

For some though who wants all the bells and whistles for their tablets/slates then there are other devices available that will cater for them. The upcoming HP Slate alone looks quite impressive.
