generic PSUs do awful stuffs to hi-end cards...cause instability to system and much more.


Try using a branded PSU and see if the same thing happens, bro

@fern: this really is the same problem i had with i reviewed the EAH4770. come to think of it, we almost share the same setting; gigabyte motherboard and EAH4770

anyway, the 4770 doesn't require that much power, drawing only 85 watts. think of it this way, the PCIE slot provides up to 75 watts of power and the remaining requirement is taken from the PCIE power connector so its really not demanding. i beleive that this is an issue coming from the motherboard.

Fern, have you tried a BIOS update on your motherboard? Your mobo manufacturer may have a new BIOS version that can resolve that problem. Also, what Catalyst version are you using?

im using the latest bios F7.

about the catalyst... wala pa ko ka install kay inig pislit pa lang nako daan sa computer dili gyud mu display... igo ra mu siga ang lights and fan saprocie and fan sa gpu...

mobo nimo tingali jud.. or try it again on your rig but this time use a different PSU. diba naa mana 6-sockets nga i-connect nimo directly sa PSU? daghan ko nabasa nga diha ang problema kay dili kadaog PSU sa gisuyop nga power gikan ana nga socket.


EDIT: in my case, i already did everything there is to do to prevent my BSOD's while playing games. so far wla pa nagproblema, but kung mu atake na sad ning BSOD/gray screen/black screen, I KNOW it's my PSU, and im gonna buy a Thermaltake 500w tomorrow if it happens again LOL

P45-UD3L mobo
E8400 procie... on OC
Zumax 550 X3 psu...

the problem is... dili mu boot....

mu siga ang ang mobo casing lights. mu andar sad ang proc fan and HD4770 power fan

pero walay display

i noticed nga inig first pislit nako sa power....

1. Mu on cya mu siga tanan light...
2. then mu pawng and restart ug iya
3 then steady na cya siga pero walay display.

AS of right now... ni balik koug gamit sa akong crappy 7300GT and ok cya

is this a problem with my PSU... because ako PSU has no PCIE 6 pin power... and im using a PCI 6 pin power from PCX that i bought for 150php
