Its just a matter of choice..
man thinks he can live without God, but everything we have is made and sustained by God. But that's not what the book is about. It's not about if you can keep breathing and walking. It's a book that looks at the effects of living a life apart from a conscious connection to God. It's not about religion either. It shows that without our connection to the eternal, life loses it's meaning and it's value. Were atheism has ruled, human life has been de-valued. People are no longer seen as creations of God, made in his image. Humans just become higher animal forms, therefore they are disposable. Morality crumbles when there is no ultimate accountability to God. People can then be just used for utilitarian purposes and disposed of without consience as can animals and plants if there is no God.
And life loses it's purpose. After all, what is the ultimate purpose in life if we are all meaningless products of chance with no destination and no connection to the eternal?
