Although, no offense to you or any other members here who have been scammed though this BUT most of these scams are clearly very obvious - here are some points to consider when receiving these scam messages:
1. How would you win or even get a discount when you didn't even register to any contest/services/privileges/etc.?
2. If you won a prize or was lucky enough to avail of certain privileges like discounts - the company behind that contest/promo would have the professionalism and integrity to call and or mail you - NOT just send you a text message.
