credit card = convenience + bragging rights.

Just be responsible enough to pay the whole amount by the end of the month.

walay pwede prisohon sa utang, ang reason ana is because bawal na sa ato constitution
naa na siya sa bill of rights sa philippine constituion
that is article three (bill of rights)
Section 20. No person shall be imprisoned for debt or non-payment of a poll tax.

ang consequence lang if dili ka kabayad is by the time nga nag kinahanglan ka ug money dili ka maka utang sa mga banks kay blacklisted naka.
mao na nga ang uban pag mangutang ka kay mangayo sila ug PDC (post dated check) ang reason ana is pag mag talbog ang cheque pwede ka kasuhan dili ug estafa (i hope i spelled it right) then kung mag tawag sad sila nimo and you made some payment arrangements to them that can be use against you. so kung naa mag tawag nimo nga collection agency just say nga dili ka kabayad kay wala kay money then kung mag ask sila "when" just answer "I don't know"

i've learned this from my polsci teacher, naka remember pako gamay sa imo mga lessons, pero gamay ra kay most of the time late ko heheheh

For the trade starter.... Anyways, just get the lesson out of this mess and live your life away from credits cards... Enjoyyyyy a debt free life.....

wa may ma preso sa utang. but pwede ka ma preso if ma prove na gigamit nimo ang card with fraud in mind (like mugamit ka ug card with the intention na dili nimo bayaran)

tell the collection people na ur willing to pay and when. mas maayu bayad ka sa whole kay para maka negotiate ka. kanang mga penalties tanan, pwede man na nimo ipa waive. hadloka na kung mag kaso2x, di man sila ka collect nimo sa 3.+% kay ang gi.allow sa law up to the legal interest ra man (or whatever the judge thinks pila ang interest but not ka high sa 3%)

nakasuway ko ug 6 cards totalling around 400k unya hostile na kaayu ko sa mga collection callers. hehe. ako kasab-an. in the end, nibayad nalang jud ko kay nag loan man ko para sa house construction gud. ang worse mahitabo nimo kay dili man preso kun dili bad credit rating. so lisod na ka magkuha ug real estate or other loans sa banko.

Call your credit card company. As what people advise you here, ask for amnesty or negotiate your payment schedule. My husband has a pending credit card debt. What we did was to call up them up and told them our intention to pay, provided that we would also be given time to settle the dues. It took a while, but they agreed to have us pay the credit card debt at least 1,000 a month, which is not bad at all.

You can do the same. You can even tell them the most comfortable amount you can give them. Just let them know too that as soon as you have other modes of acquiring more income, you will also increase your repayments. They hardly say no to a negotiation, since it always provides them an option to collect money from their clients.

When it comes to jail time, I know you could be charged in court if you change address without informing them. It may seem like you're running away from your obligations. You can also get jailed if you pay them insufficiently funded checks.
