Patience is a virtue that certainly works..
I just wanna comment. I don't think this is an employer-employee relationship but more of a contractor-contractee. more like a business.
TS, it doesn't hurt to be nice/professional. the last contractor/contractee i worked with didn't reply to text messages/YM/email and true enough he made the disappearing act days later. that person is VJAYSEO/vince leyson who posted an ad here in istorya care of acquaintances.![]()

In your case it is, in my case it is employer-employee relationship. And the issue was not about nice/professionalism. The applicants have not started working yet and i explained my side, now put yourself i my shoes. I was never ever labeled as not nice nor unprofessional. So no comparison to what happen to you and does not apply in this case. I feel bad about what happen to you. It happens a lot to employer like me as well, Prospect all talk but when the project comes then, guba ang computer, nasakit, namatay, gilobung. We also are target to scam to so its 2 way street. But There is no comparison whatsoever in your transaction with mine. If they start to work with me, they will know me personally as i pay via bank to bank. This people are in the interview stage. And i have told them to expect email from me, like any other employers for guidelines and possible projects (u dont expect them to do a job and not know the guidelines and and details of the job right?) ....
Example.
(chat went well, sample was great then you talk and you think they are right for the job. Then u chat more. Then u ask, tell me about your Writing experience again?
applicant: well, i have experience because i watch a lot of TV and movies. I read a lot about magazines. But I know i can do the job.)
Well, what do you think? To tell you frankly I hire US, UK,Canadian and Australian Writers = 70+ in my team, now i have 3 cebuano writers. I have experience in handling applicants. And the answer above Is the worst i had. But i tried to give him a chance, to at least write for me. But shit happens. And here we are now. My politeness should not be in question here. But rather the applicant.
Patience would have played a part here. If u guys canl not understand my point which is the POV of employer, then whatever. This thread is for people looking for work. Thats the purpose of this thread. To give work. Its my discretion who i hire and who i send email , when i send it. If you dont like it go to the next thread or find work somewhere else.
Please put this to rest.
People needing job will get the wrong impression. Thats y i try to answer as much as possible about this issue. Put it to rest already.
Writers needed. 4 more to complete Cebu Team.
I see. So you pay for overhead--employees' working space, internet connection, electricity, benefits, taxes, etc. Well then good. It's always good to have people who create jobs.
I have been on both sides of the table, too--employer and employee--and I know what to expect from both sides. Though companies do not always call applicants re their application status, I always admire those who do give a call/letter (Ex. Proctor and Gamble). I'm sure you do too coz you've been an employee or at least was once an applicant. And as employer/recruiter, when I say 'you got the job' then that really what happens. Word of honor.
I just understand how one of your applicants feels here. I think valid man iya point, gisaaaran man nimo siya ug projects. Now because he has been impatient as it turns out now, di na gyud hinuon siya nimo tagaan ug projects, right? Well if I were in your shoes, I would have asked someone to send him a message considering your pc is online 24/7 at home (as you say) so that they wouldn't be worried or wondering what the heck happened. Coz you are right, scammers abound and everyone is almost paranoid. tehee
That's it. I just wanted to make a point. Afterall, we are istoryans and we care for each other. @TS please take this constructively. Thanks.

Up, Writers needed. all queries will thru email, no time for this thread.
quote from TS:
(chat went well, sample was great then you talk and you think they are right for the job. Then u chat more. Then u ask, tell me about your Writing experience again?
applicant: well, i have experience because i watch a lot of TV and movies. I read a lot about magazines. But I know i can do the job.) end of quote.
for the information of everyone following this thread.. I never said to the TS that I had freelance writing experience. I made it very clear to him. I even said I'm a virgin at freelance writing. TS then mentioned that the topics would be very varied..that was when I said I watch a lot of TV and movies, and read lots of magazines hoping to mean that this would be helpful in at least a working grasp of as varied a topic as I could. At least initially...Research of course would have to be added.
If the TS was paying attention to our chat..and not probably be busy with other businesses he's into when we had that chat..he would have read that I told him the only formal writing experience I had was when I was Editorial Staff of the official USC student paper(Today's carolinian)and that I won a few essay writing contests in college. A fact that he acknowledged when he replied to my first email by saying: If you're as good as you say you are, submit a sample article of the following topics, etc.etc.
to TS: sorry we both want this to rest but I don't want to appear dumb to the readers. For the record I did not say I had previous freelance writing experience or said that I have, simply because I watch TV and read magazines. Get your facts straight.
