artistic and creative... you wouldn't want that your child to sing his version... but you can encourage your child to be artistic and creative and still maintain the the message of the anthem...

IMO, Martin really did a good job... everybody has his own style... it was his style...

sakto... mas maayo doklon ang kanang naka limot or wala juy alam sa lyrics...
    kadto sila ang pakauwaw lng...

Nayabag man gani tong mga nanganta sauna... mas maayo nlng gani ni wala nayabag...

I agree. It's our national anthem. IMO, ang mga artist di jd unta mu try ug change sa melody sa atong NA. Plus, I think the way he sang it was soo showbiz. His facial expressions and all that.

It's a violation of the Flag and Heraldic Code (Republic Act. No. 8491). Di ko expert ni basa ra ko sa Philippine Daily Inquirer.

Section 37 of the Republic Act No. 8491, also known as the 1998 Flag and Heraldic Code of the Philippines, provides that "the rendition of the National Anthem, whether played or sung, shall be in accordance with the musical arrangement and composition of Julian Felipe."

It's good sis that you have posted this source of information so that we may at least know some key points... I agree to the statement of Mr. Ocampo "National Anthem is not an ordinary piece of music open to free interpretation."

What is artistic to changing the mode of the National Anthem to a more showbiz-like sound?

as long as you sing it heartily then it's ok, i don't even sing the national anthem, i can not feel the essence of the song because the lyrics is not my first language...

old or new version, I wont encourage or discourage my child to sing the national anthem...

Murag over ra pud nang choir dad-on bro, supak pud na sa event rules tingale kay most likely 1 person lang man gi-allow to sing.. Ma-doble na ato na-violate na rule or law.

Pwede ra jud ang usa ra tawo lang mukanta, ang gipangayo lang sa NHI nga i-respect ang national anthem by obeying the Republic Act 8491. As simple as that lang gyud...

Peace lang ta bro ha, my comment is for the general public including me, my friends, my family og sa tanan. Ang point lang is that, para mouswag nata, let the discipline start from within each and everyone of us.
