About three challenges we have to solve:
First is how to replace the CURRENT CITY ELECTRIC POST SYSTEM without disrupting traffic, power and other things in the entire city. This could be done by creating a separate connection that's underground while the posts are stilll standing and connected to the city, kind of like how a resevoir functions when you build a dam.
The underground systems have to be worked on fast every night or during light traffic. nce they're finished, like if there'snow an alternate channel acros the city, the lamp posts must be safely disconnected before they are finally uprooted and disposed of. This should be done by night with serious restrictions to travelling in the excavation site.
Second is the SHOLLOW PIPELINES. The posts must be built to stay out of the way of the city's piplines in order to prevent any unwanted destruction due to simple leaks. One way is to elevate the sidewalks and trun them into casings for the electric pipes. The sidewalks have to be extremely insulated and must be high enough to keep away from the next challenge, which is:
FLOOD. No matter how well protected the casings are, you can never be to safe when it comes to avoiding direct contact with water. Everytime it floods, sidewalks are one of the first to get super-soaked. To avoid risking an electric death for every pedestrian during rainy days, a separate channel must be made to insure that flood water doesn't come close to the insulators. It might sound redundant, but, once again, you can never be too safe.
These challenges must be dealt with in the overall city plan. Miss one, and there could be serious trouble. After all, our electric posts do not only provide us with an impending danger and ugly nuisance. They also keep us reminded that we Filipinos have something to do about them as well.
