So, in their blindness, they have now come to learn "Whoa! You're indeed an elephant!" All picture of trees and snakes vanish. They were just blind men, not deaf men right?

The story presumes the elephant can't do anything about the blind men. I invite you to give it more thought.
Wow! What a wonderfully profound statement. Now THIS is what I was waiting to happen.

    Especially this line:

    Outstanding!

Let's continue in this line of thought.

To continue that very insightful analysis of iron_golem, let's say, okay, the "Elephant" refused to be silent, that the elephant wanted to say, "Hey, you're almost right, but not quite, this is how it goes."

Let's have the opposite of a debate. Let's find the different "screams" that this Elephant is making in other Religions. What I'm trying to say is, let's try to see the PARALLELS and COMMONALITIES of various religions.

    The Blood Of Kings Theory

What does Hercules have in common with the Emperor of Japan? What does Perseus have in common with the Pharaohs of Egypt?

In Greek Myth, Hercules and Perseus are believed to have been sired by the God Zeus and a mortal woman. The Emperors of Japan and the Pharaohs of Egypt believed that they are direct descendants of men fathered by gods.

And then, in the bible, just before the story of Noah, you will find this:

When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the LORD said, "My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years." The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These were kings of old, the men of renown. (Genesis 6:1-4, English Standard Version)

    What do you think?

AHAHAHAHAHA! I just love it when Catholic Inquisitor Generals still brand the heathen up to this day... Watch out Carlo! Desert Farter is getting his torture implements ready for your pleasure! Nyahahahahahahaha!

    Taken from the GOSPELGRACE website:

The Pear: A large bulbous gadget is inserted in the orifice of choice, whether mouth, anus or vagina. A lever on the device then causes it to slowly expand whilst inserted. Eventually points emerge from the tips. (Apparently, internal bleeding doesn't count as "breaking the skin.") Quite a versatile tool, the pear, it is used upon those of foul tounge or sexual practice. For those who speak heresy, it is inserted deep into the mouth, for the male homosexual, the anus, and for the woman who would have sexual relations with that which is not holy, the vagina.

You should not think that the pain will be tolerable, for the tool's size is much greater than that which seems to be portrayed here. Once the pear has been inserted, it will then be opened with the twisting mechanism, and the segments will be spread to their full capacity.

Pay special heed also to the pointed tips themselves, for they are what will bring you even more grief. These points, when opened, tear into the soft tissue of your throat, intestines, or cervix, depending on the crime and gender. The damage done is beyond repair.

More interesting torture methods to entice you to BE HOLY, like Headcrusher Head Vice, Knee Splitter Vice, Impaling, Disembowlment, The Iron Maiden, The Wheel, etc... Find them all at this page:

Pssst. Let's not fight here. While I am annoyed that someone would actually be stupid enough to actually think that a myspace account would be as valid as a baptismal certificate, let's just let it slide.

For now, may I ask what you think about my previous post?

    Sacrifice

In the bible, Jesus is referred to as the Lamb of God, who sacrifices himself for our salvation.

But sacrifice is not unique to Christianity. In fact, it is one of the oldest of religious practices, with many similiar elements, such as:

    1. Gods need sacrifice to sustain themselves and their power.

    2. Sacrificed goods are used to make a bargain with the god, who has promised some favour in return for the sacrifice.

3.The lives or blood of sacrificial victims contains mana or some other supernatural power whose offering pleases the god.

4.The sacrificial victim is offered as a scapegoat, a target for the wrath of a god, which otherwise would be visited on the followers.

    5. Sacrifice deprives the followers of food and other useful commodities, and as such constitutes an ascetic discipline.

    6. Sacrificed goods actually become part of a religious organisation's revenue; it is a part of the economic base of support that compensates priests and supports temples.

    7. The sacrifice is actually a part of a festival and is ultimately consumed by the followers themselves; often this includes an element of redistribution where the poor get a larger share than they contributed.

8.The sacrifice may be a sign of a covenant between a god and His people.

There are basically two kinds of sacrifice rituals.

    1. Where the the victim is simply killed and then abandoned.

    2. Where the victim is consumed after it is dead.

In the case of Christ, and in particular, the Last Supper, Christ's Body and Blood are consumed by his disciples BEFORE he dies, and later, Christian consume him AFTER his resurrection has occured.

... ok. let me introduce myself. hehe

    .. i believe that there's a God.
.. i have no choice but to accept my Religion ( roman catholic )
.. i don't believe the church as the house of God, since God is everywhere.
.. i don't believe in the words of the priest, since they are the best hypocrites in the world
.. i dont respect Nuns, 2nd in rank in hypocrisy
.. i believe in the Holy Trinity
.. i don't say that Roman Catholic nor any religion is best
.. i respect every religion man has created
.. i dont hear the Holy Mass, since i can talk to God anytime of the day, and i dont want to hear the priest's sermons as if he is Holy and righteous

.... i like this discussions better since there are no phrases from the bible. this is more direct and practical.

but with regards to all the questions here is my stand:

.. i believe that when we die, that's the only time all our answers will be answered
.. this pretty much sums up what carlo has been saying in his first post.

    this is very funny:
the sons of God saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. but its there imbedded in the bible. What if the daughters of man were NOT attractive? just my stupid idea. hehe

... salvation or heaven has been created by man to satisfy his insecurities about death. Death is the ultimate unknown to man. No one has ever came back from the dead. Many have tried to claim, with one common description of a light at the end of the tunnel. but no one has ever proved that there is life after death. And the old testament is the best adventure epic of all time. It was made/wrought by the pagans of those days so that they can have a land for their own. So they have it placed in the "bible" that God has gave them a PROMISED LAND. If you trace back to the first civilizations they have MANY Gods. Sumeria have hundreds of Gods. and most of the origins of their gods are of NATURAL PHENOM. Like the Sun is a god, the moon. the ocean. Lightning. thunder. If you might have noticed. these things are yet to be explained by the people of ancient times so, again, they made, these unknown phenoms God.
