Panahon pa ni sa mga Kastila, really nothing new here. Our priests think they have moral obligation to the people its serving. Even if we do not agree in their inclusion sa politics, this is the reality in our country and I doubt it will change.
Priests have a social responsibility to their people and like any citizen, they can also voice out their opinion on any political matter. However, they should do so as a private citizen, not as a member of the clergy. A priest should serve as a guide, not somebody who willingly influences your thoughts or forces your hand by threatening you with excommunication or eternal damnation.
We should also take note that the Church isn't always right, even though they try to advertise otherwise.
