no doubt on speilberg work of art...
Well, of course the opening visual had to be related somehow to the ending. Reminds me of the photogramettry in FIGHT CLUB, that opening by the way.
anyway, that's always a rule to have your first scene have everything to do with your last. That's just cohesion of scenes. the problem is it wasn't a "first scene" it was just an opening visual. Plus Morgan Freeman had to explain it to us, not so very cinematic resolve if you ask me. they were TELLING US
shadow: i have watched the first War Of The Worlds movie, its not in black and white, i could say that its the best portrayal of alien invasion during that time...
watching the WOTW - Steven Spielberg movie, i cant help not to ask this question...
1. before the Tripods appear, all electronic equipment stops working... still, when the first Tripod appears, how come a guy films the whole scenery with a camcorder?
The effects are somewhat good, but the movie, over-all, somewhat needs calibration, if i haven't watched the old movie or haven't read the novel by H.G. Wells, i would have agreed with my friend that the Birds were the reason why the Tripods/Martians weakened and not the bacteria, LOLz...(im talking about the scene where mr. cruise yells at a soldier about the birds above a Tripod).

Bai, unsa man tung Red nga mura ug mga ugatwa kaayo ko kasabot ato....
Kyle nexus,
come on man we gotta let go of the pedantic attitude some times. :-b The movie was very enjoyable. I wonder if you're very keen or you've read the IMDB goofs page, but I would guess it is product placement for Sony that is if I am correct that it is a Digital 8 camcorder of the same brand. :-b
I like the movie for one reason. Simplicity. It is simple enough that even a bacterium would understand.
You can never go wrong if you follow the course of nature....

kanang electronic charge thing ba, it's also in CLOSE ENCOUNTERS ni pawong kadiyot ang mga suga paglabay sa mga spaceship. also a Spielberg film. pa-ita kong naai ga download or ga long-ag og kan-on ma-abtan og alien invasion. patay ang mga appliances.
actually, mga dinosaur ang gahimo sa mga tripods. more advanced brains of dinosaurs the einsteinasaurus or the newtonausaurus rex. the aliens just hi-jacked those dinosaur manufactured tripods and exploited the technology.
nope, it wasn't the cave men in the stone age who made the tripods. they were too dumb and primitive.

OT:
My National Geographic magazine said that the Earth encountered a disruption when a Solar storm happened a few years ago and some of the solar flares reached us (ambot sakto ba ni pagka state)...... what happened was that ni shutdown ang mga power plants sa North America, some cars (especially the automatic ones) stopped working....
If some of us can remember it right, an Automatic Car which was parked in Maria Luisa stopped working during a thunder storm, which in turn cost the life of the owner who was a Doctor at Cebu Doc.....
ummmmm, basin naay alien ni naog atu hehehehe.....
