Default Who are the filipino people?

There are as many stupid Americans as there are many stupid Filipinos. But there are also many disciplined and smart Americans as there are many disciplined and smart Filipinos.

If the PMA scholar did shoplift, then it is his personal intention that caused it. Of course, I would feel so ashamed of him too.

This, however, would not make me feel bad of being Filipino. I am still very proud of being Filipino because I am a good one and I've got strong family values to stand with and radiate to the world.

AT least the ACTIONS of that certain PMA valedictorian wasted only the 2.1 M pesos of govt money alloted . It is good that an early stage of character signs was intercepted that will somehow contribute him to become a HIGH RANKING CORRUPT OFFICIAL someday in the making . If he got away from it then chances are he will not only bank $12 but maybe $ 12,000,000 in the future as a chief of staff of the AFP , who knows .

Though that one doesnt stop me from being so PROUD as a FILIPINO . Heck im not even pure FIlipino but I am claiming 100% FIlipino ancestry !! It is just too much to mention for me why I am so proud to be a FIlipino .

Have you heard of a German pedophile or an American fugitive? There are different kinds of people you know. And, yes there was a Filipino like that PMA guy who shoplifted from a store in the United States. Now, tell me which nationality in the world do not have criminals or bad guys?

This thing about the PMA guy do not make me less proud of my Filipino identity, its culture and values. And, I still would like be a good example to fellow Filipinos.

    OT:

The ultimate apologists. Garcia, Joaquin and the other 10 officers being investigated, need you to defend them. You can also advise the Filipinos who are offended by this kind of stupidity and complete absence of integrity to just pray. It is just too bad that the US Army does not tolerate this dishonesty in their ranks. Perhaps you should lecture them.

I went to the official website for the Philippine Military Academy (www.pma.ph). Here's what I found:

Mission - The Philippine Military Academy adheres to the philosophy that education must develop the whole person. Under this concept, education is not limited to the development of the intellect only. It also includes physical education, the acquisition of knowledge, and the development of skills, habits, and attitudes and values, which are required by a chosen profession. This "total-person" concept is aptly captured in the PMA mission statement:

"to instruct, train and develop the cadets so that each graduate shall possess the character, the broad and basic military skills, and the education essential to the successful pursuit of a progressive military career"

Four Pillars of Cadet Development - Consistent with the Academy’s philosophy of education and mission, the proposed curriculum is anchored on the educational and training philosophy committed to the pursuit of essential leadership traits:

    1. Leadership and character development
    2. Broad and basic military skills
    3. Liberal education in the arts and sciences
    4. Physical fitness to lead men

As such, it blends intellectual, military professional, physical, and character development of the cadets. The PMA curriculum thus molds leaders of character who possess moral-ethical uprightness, leadership and team skills, versatility, communication skills, and dedication to life-long learning. At the same time, it produces leaders of the 21st century who shall be professional officers of the Armed Forces.
No matter how we look at it, Joaquin's stupidity and dishonesty reflects poorly on the Academy in particular and on the Filipino people in general. Shame, shame!

who cares if somebody did shoplift? that sort of things in US is not a big deal. It's a kind of prank and fun. In fact, it enables them to learn that thier security monitoring team is doing a good job. They should not publish it or make a big bang out of it for the sake of international diplomacy. He should identify himself and talk to the boss of Walmart whatever.. and let them know that is was just a joke.

the filipino people--they've become resilient through years of battling poverty, lousy governance and all other huge blows. they are a people who could laugh and feel good about themselves despite the pain of reality...but they're also a people who dont learn from past mistakes. they see the problem, they know they need to do something but it just stops there. they are passive-aggressive. they seem to fancy the negative side of things and they've become comfortable with it..nevertheless they are a people who work hard for their families. they put their families first before themselves. they believe in God and they try to hold on to their faith as best as they could...
I believe the Filipino people could do better...We just need to get ourselves a brand new government..toink!
