sa ML sa Sandwich ug gikan neh asmatik88@yahoo.com a.k.a. Lemon Marasigan:

dear sandwich, cambio and pedicab listers

yes there will be an eraserheads concert
    yes im playing drums
it will be on august 30
    i havent met the band
and we havent rehearsed as a group
im thinking that will all happen in august

im sure you have read the blogs and newspapers and whatnot.
a lot of things there are not true.

    at the moment
the final venue has not been confirmed.
and the promoters are still dealing with the tickets and crowd control
    issues.

the promoters promise to answer these questions soon. maybe this
    coming week so standby.

there will be no front acts.
it will be a long set.
no theres no talk of an album or tour.

please dont email me privately. ill answer your questions (if theyre
not silly) in the cambio, pedicab sandwich mailing lists.

    have a good weekend

ug napa jud ... gikan neh Lemon! istrikto kaayo siya sa personal! hehehehe!

    a few thoughts

no i dont miss playing drums. i have a drumkit set up in the house and
i play all the time. i have a lot of drum gear, percussion and drum
    machines.
    i love playing drums.
i even play percussion in church on sundays when i can.

diego cas and mong have drumkits and we make a lot of noise and jam.
mike d has a vistalite (see thru) vintage kit. really cool and really
loud. we used it in mayrics last week.

i love playing drums for cambio.we played 2 gigs last night.

on occasion im honored to play drums for sugarfree, chicosci, imago,
    duster and the dawn.

i get asked this a lot.
im sorry i dont mean to offend but i dont miss the eheads or get senti
about it. it was a college band that turned into something we could
not control. the music lives. but thats just me.

im also a big music fan and i know how it means to other people so
please dont send me hate mail. haha. im really not a bad person. its
    just a gig.

yes we all agreed to play 1 gig but were minimizing the drama.
i will give it 110 percent. thats the sandwich way.
if i give any less diego will kick my butt on stage.

    drums not drama

    Flashback.

September 1988. Cubao, Quezon City. Four teenagers step out of a bus and crossed EDSA, to the maze of alleys around NEPA-Q Mart. They were looking for this cheap recording studio which only cost 40 pesos an hour to rent. They were four college kids from UP Diliman, trying to see what fate has in store for them.

Leading the group was a tall, pale, lanky kid, with an Ian McCullough haircut (his dad once told him that if he didn't get a decent haircut, he would be "disowned" by the family). He walked with a gait that seemed to suggest he wanted to glide through the air rather than walk, and you can see that the bottom of his jeans was tucked underneath the soles of his slippered feet. His name was Raymund Marasigan.

Beside him, was a cleancut, baby-faced lad who appeared to be constantly cheerful and smiling. He hailed from Zamboanga. His name was Buddy Zabala. Following the duo was a pair of short fellows who looked more like they came out of a Nazi concentration camp than UP Campus. One guy had angular features on his face, and always wore a sly smirk, as if he just tricked someone into buying a fake Rolex, and talked with a low long drawl that usually almost always ends in a chuckle. His name was Marcus Adoro.

The guy beside Marcus had a similar gaunt frame, and he was the shortest of the three. He had really bad teeth and an oily, pimply face, topped by short wavy hair that was recently curly (after a disastrous appointment at a beauty parlor). Among the four, he was probably the only one who was different, in that all his life, he never seriously considered playing a musical instrument for a living. The only reason why he tagged along with the rest of them was, a) Buddy was from Mindanao, like him and b) Marcus was the first person he befriended in the Freshmen dormitory called Kalayaan Residence Hall.

He somehow miraculously managed to bluff his way into telling the rest of the three that he played drums back in high school, which he did, but not exactly as a good drummer. But nonetheless, he was here, in NEPA-Q, with the guys, and when they found the said studio, all dark and damp, he collected ten pesos from each of the guys, merged his own ten and handed the bills over to the studio manager, and the studio manager handed him a clipboard, and he signed his name in. Rodion Herrera.
