This proposal is typically elitist.

The middle class and the high class members of our society are the ones manipulating how our country should be run. Heck, I've seen some high class people manipulate how our judges should decide on a certain case to the tune of 5M pesos. And yet, you propose that we leave it all up to them?

Not because they are poor means they cannot decide properly, not because they lacked proper formal education means they don't how to make a balanced decision.

I agree that it is somewhat elitist...But besides that, does everyone see if there are other disadvantages/advantages on the proposal?

- there are two things in this world that's inevitable.. TAXES happens to be one of them.. so basically all of us are taxpayers.. there are a lot of taxes, transfer taxes of which some aren't even aware at, but are paying.. so there really is not exclusion so to speak

- you are stressing your suggestion, with a primary contention that these poor people, have the most likelihood of being manipulated by pesky public officials and wannabees.. indeed, there is that likelihood.. but subscribing to your suggestion, would in 'substance over form' equates to civil death of a segment of the populace.. and would purportly forfeits the very essence of democracy and the state’s mandate..

- philppines can't be directly correlated with countries like U.S. who basically have a manpower requirement that goes beyond their current census, here.. it is clearly obvious that there is a very little avenue of work for people, figures on unemployment rate and over-qualified employees would suffice such fact that there is not enough avenues for people to get into the workforce..

- we also have to consider bro that significantly many (if not majority) of our the population belongs to the poor class

anyway, if we are to elitist, then don't you think its even better if we instead deprive middle and high class people from running? by that we can be assured that there will be not vote buying.. no pun intended bro, but there is no "absolute" assurance that mid-high class people would not accept vote money.. so we might as well take out the source hehehehe
