so ICAC should be aggressive and not just accept 10% discount

example in Thailand the goverment threatened in promoting open source operating system..... The price of windows XP went down.... THAT is how you negotiate....

    ICAC never did this.....
how sure are you that ICAC did not advocate the use of open source?

and how can ICAC hire you if you are a ghost? Â*introduce yourself and maybe you can be hired by ICAC to do any future negotiations.

but sad to say, we members would like someone nga kamao mag research before barking loud for baseless accusations . . .

How do you know that this was not done? Threaten Microsoft with Linux? We don't have to because they did their homework and they know that the games most of the cafe's are using DO NOT RUN on Linux....yet. Â* Â*If you must know, ICAC has been advocating OPEN SOURCE since ICAC was established. Â*We have individuals who are testing the latest innovations in the OPEN SOURCE to see how this can benefit the industry. Â*I assume that you know the major hurdle in using an all open source software operation is akin to hanging yourself in a business sense because of the customer's choice. Â*How can you compete when like one of the posters here said, one of his friends got around the system and got himself a business license without complying with the requirements. (somewhat illegal too but who cares right?) Â* Do you really think that you can do a better negotiation with Microsoft? I'd like to see you try. Â* Â*Given the way you are prancing around in this forum, I shudder to the result of the negotiation before it even starts. Â*Make Microsoft beg... don't make me laugh. Â*ICAC is not stupid. we do our planning long-term and we DO NOT just do things at the spur of the moment because this is what we want. Â* Regarding Thailand
issue that you raised, I agree that they did "threaten" Microsoft but you're talking about a country and comparing a small organization like ICAC with it (should I be happy or sad with this comparison? Happy for ICAC and sad for you maybe?) Â*But again, if you do your research properly, the cheap version of WinXP that they are distributing in Thailand is severely stripped down and is "localized" to that country/region. Â* There are a lot of issues with this version of Windows XP and we would not want to be a receipient of this kind of software. Â*Like what I said a few times in this post alone. Â*DO YOUR RESEARCH FIRST AND GET THE CORRECT INFORMATION BEFORE YOU TYPE THE FIRST LETTER OF YOUR NEXT POST.

Yeah right, do you know how much it'll cost to develop that? Â*You do it and I'll pay you. Â*Even the local Linux Organizations are having second thoughts when they start talking about developing a local flavor of linux. Â*I should know, I use LINUX, I Teach LINUX and I set-up Linuix Networks for a living. Â*What do you do? just dabble maybe?

You a cafe operator? I bet not. Your statement is ridiculous! If you are a cafe operator, then prove to me that you are using 100% Linux. Let me also know how much you are earning daily to compare with those who are using MS. ICAC is not short of technical men, consultants. We even have a permanent seat evaluating locally developed softwares for quality standards. We also have those Linux experts around. We also have a battery of negotiators who have proven themselves in their own fields. We don't take chances. We take people who already have strings of accomplishments to prove.

ok! maybe you have only heared it now, but you can ask other members, especially during atong time nga init ang raid, kon diin nakakuha nag uban ug idea nga mag linux. others also uses open office instead of MS Office.

But anyway, ICAC is not dong any publishing of whta they have contributed. Â*The fact the you existed, and if you are near a school, you owe it to ICAC.

wether you like it or not, icafes operating 100 m near a school, you still owe ICAC for your existence.

If you insist, start your research, if done, try another research and dig into the killer provission that should have existed wayback 5 to 6 years ago.

If you haven't heared of that killer provission, try asking some old icafe operators for a start.

tnx and more power to you . . .

by the way, if ICAC are terrorist, who is doing the act of terrorism?
