As long as there are people playing Blues/Classic Rock, then OLD SCHOOL ROCK will stay. We can't blame the new generation coz they have less or no exposure to the genre at all (what a big loss on their part).
There are even modern "rock" guitarists (I know one, a shredder) who don't know how to ad lib in Classic Rock songs. Tsk tsk tsk...
BLues/Classic ROck don't sell, that's why we don't hear much of it nowadays. I wonder if the band of Binky Lampano still exists? THe one with the expat TOmcat doing the harmonica... nindot pud.
i agree with serpent boy, old school rock will stay... my friends' band, my college classmates who are relatively young at 18-19ish, play old school rock, they used to cover songs by led zep, scorpions, black sabbath, juan dela cruz, anything at least from 15 years ago , and their compos rock... rockers will always try to seek their roots, coz my same friends used to play emo in their old band, but got tired with it, dili sila ma challenge sa mga bag.o nga rock... so bisan unsaon pa naa gihapon maka appreciate ug old skool bisan gamay ra...
Agree!!! Although Emo Rock sounds nice and I do appreciate the sound but still I found no challenge with the riffs.Originally Posted by keyser_soze
Rocknroll is the forefather of every rock music genre. Back in the old days kids form bands to play rocknroll, now kids are more expose to the possibilities of exploring the juices of rocknroll. Thus, they begin to discover variations of rocknroll now labeled as punk, goth, HC, ska, & etc. and more to come...
kamingaw sa kalibutan if mawa ang OLD SCHOOL ROCK..
nawa lang tingali sa "passing" but not totally dead...tungod sa mga variations n sd n tngali sa rock n' roll.ngkadaghan naman gd..
makadungog pa man ko sa mga radiostations.. muundang jd ko sa ako buhat f ever muplay ug old school rocks..hehe
hello. neregister jud kog tuyo pra makatampo ug gamay. salamat ninyong tanan, nalingaw sad kog basa. for me, rock n roll aint dead. rock is simply how you express that passion, art, and feeling within. In my case, i play play hard/acid rock and (some ambition for virtuoso music, jason becker rules!!!). at this age ** and with a fairly busy time table, i dont think i can rock on at full force. gamahay ko nganong wa ko nagpahimos sa una. at times i think of quittin the job, find something which gives me a more relaxed life style(so i can rock on). But despite that, i wont let it stop me from rockin and listinening to the type of rock that i love and the people who made it that i respect, and i think it goes the same to you (whatever you like). sawayon man ko o dili sa akong gusto, wala koy paki. mutukar ghapon ko..... ug maminaw sad.....
So i think, rock thrives on the people who truly remember and appreciate it. (no posers). To everyone, who are akin to the spirit that i have, i invite you to "KEEP ON ROCKIN IN THE FREE WORLD!!!"
adios. God Bless....
You've got the nerves buddy!!! Jason Becker is already a virtouso at the age of 17. We will keep on rockin the free world and we will make sure OLD SCHOOL ROCK lives in our hearts and our minds.Originally Posted by Rennaov
If you like to jam a becker or cacophony like pieces you can pm Glassmoon. He we will take you to the world of speed metal symphony. You'll never regret if you jam with this guy.
I met someone who likes to play alternative songs (he's a actually a vocalist). He formed a band and he got me into it. Later when he realized his band has a potential he brought the band into the HIGHLIGHT.Originally Posted by ground_crashed
And then, his image was known...known to "tsiks". And then he came to me saying "bro,I had an invitation and they would like us to play somewhere in Talamban. There's a lot of "tsiks" there."
The kid always tell me those lines because we can yield "tsiks", tsiks, tsiks...AAAHHHH. WTF!
I broke up with the Band coz i Don't like that kind of Attitude. Some people use A band's image to be known "or para mahalin sila sa tsiks". Man it's no longer a passion.
if you are a real rocker you need to have a passion to play that is in your blood and flowing through your veins not a passion to F*@k . True musicians play by heart . True musicians do not play just because someone would admire you and have *** with you after you play.
True Musicians Kiss the Sky when they play, because when they play, they play HARD!!! Chrome-Vanadium HARD!!!!
We assure you that speed metal guitar will never die.Originally Posted by Rennaov
I also had a great time jamming with you, my friend. You are one of the best guitarists I have ever jammed with and I'm looking forward to jam with you still.Originally Posted by sæmunder
