none of them both... SSC USELESS....
This is in regard to the issue raised by Rambutan on the proposal of STAND when they were in the SSC (2002) to amend the constitution and change the structure of the SSC (from one President, VP and 21 Councilors elected at large to their proposal: a President, VP and 15 Senators elected at large; 1 Governor, VG and 7 Councilors for each Campus).
From what I know, this was not opposed by the Admin for the reasons mentioned, the only reason why the ADMIN reacted was that the proposed STAND structure is very bureaucratic (with too many layers, it becomes very disadvantageous to students) and would therefore be a more difficult set up in terms of coming up with reforms and implementing programs.
The reason TINGOG CAROLINIAN opposed it was not only for it's highly bureaucratic structure, but actually for STAND's blatant disregard for the expenses to be incurred in implementing the new structure in the same academic year, if only to protect and perpetuate their own political interests. STAND wanted to hold a plebiscite (election) to approve their proposal only a week before the actual annual SSC election so they can, right away, implement the new structure in the new SSC election if the "yes" vote wins in the plebiscite.
So what's wrong with this? An election costs approximately Php 60, 000.00 (for ballots, food, COMELEC IDs and T-shirts, et al.) and it's amazing why STAND, which has vowed to protect the interests and welfare of the students, would wantonly spend for two elections costing at least Php 60, 000.00 each when these two are merely two weeks apart? It was therefore only prudent and wise for TINGOG CAROLINIAN to oppose such a selfish and scheming move from a party (STAND) that prides itself to be the oldest campus political party in USC and one that is supposed to be the first to protect the students' interests (including, but not limited to, their financial interests)
TINGOG did not merely disagree with the proposed structure, it disagreed with STAND's hasty and haphazard move (one that smells of political greed and avarice) in implementing a structure that has not yet been fully discussed and debated upon by the STUDENTS- the very reason why all these candidates ran for in the first place.
Talk about TINGOG being Pro-Admin/ ass-lickers? What about BYRON and SATO being very close to VP Admin FR. PUNZALAN? FYI: They even have night-outs at IT Park and Crossroads.
So, I’m wondering why, despite being an overwhelming majority (all councilors winning in a highly controversial election) in the SSC and engaging in ASS-LICKING/ BONDING SESSIONS WITH THE ADMIN, they haven’t implemented the promises they’ve been making for two years now
Some of the many STAND promises that the Carolinians believed and the reasons why they elected STAND for two consecutive years
i) SSC seat in the Board of Trustees
ii) abolish the male uniform
iii) Revive Today’s Carolinian
iv) Revive/Relocate the RCNS/ Resource Center for Nationalist Studies
v) lower canteen prices, et al.)
None of this have come into fruition. Tsk tsk tsk
What do I have to say to this?
I say enough is enough.
Sa SSC pa gani maglisud gani og implement sa ilang mga saad, how much more in the politics or higher organizations. tsk tsk
up!
