hey, starr. not at all... actually, i do enjoy sharing my wedding suppliers. i was so happy with them =) i believe the name is scented petals (is that right, jan?). it's the one located in ayala access road. uhm... it should be the last shop on the right (coming in from gorordo)... beside a water refilling station. they don't have a fancy schmancy shop... and come to think of it, their portfolio didn't look impressive either. but they really do a great job. i was quite surprised when i walked down the aisle and see the whole hall just covered with flowers... and the reception area looking exactly like how i wanted it to look. =)
oh scented petals??the owner's daughter is my classmate in highschool hehe yeah nice na sila diha

@vanessuh: Oh... I see... Anyway, maybe you can post some pictures of your weddingI'd love to see the work of your florist... they even impressed your husband's aunt that works at Hilton Hawaii. I'm very very curious
I have a lot of friends getting married and I'd love to recommend them to a good but not so expensive shop.
anyway, I'd like to share some pictures from my wedding... Our florist is the one at Fashion Avenue... I forgot the name. hehehe. But it's part of Celebrations Specialist. I was also very impressed with how they did our decors... but they're quite expensive...

ooh... those decors are awesome. i love it. i had wanted white drapes for the ceiling... but jan said that waterfront doesn't allow that anymore... and if i wanted to go for it, i would pay lots. i was planning the entire wedding from abroad so i left everything to jan's hands. but i love your decors. they look simply elegant and rich... and expensive. hahahha! now the last part is the thing both my husband and i didn't want to go for. we were paying for eveything and we decided we can't put ourselves in debt for the first few months of marriage... and he's extremely stubborn. his mom wanted to help pay for the wedding (i think she wanted to go all out with the works and everything) but he wouldn't accept their money.
anyway, i do have my pics up in the web somewhere. it's in photos.yahoo.com/vldperez. they're nowhere near as bongga as yours though. hahahha! but i got everything for only 45k so i was extremely happy with what i got for that price... and there's lots! also, i have the same photographer and videographer as yours... if you're singing their praises... i'm very excited to receive my pics and videos now =D
and oh... if we went with your florist and got the same level of elegant decors... aunty cindy (the one that works for hilton) would probably faint. hahahha! contrary to popular belief, average north american weddings are blah when it comes to decors. there's only so few flowers and minimal to no props (like fountains and draperies and such). only the uber-rich can afford to decorate their wedding.
it never really occured to me since i grew up with our kind of weddings... even the lower middle class people can afford to put many flowers in the church. but anyway, a month after our wedding, my husband attended our friends' wedding... and he came back commenting how bare the wedding was. the only flowers were the bouquets, buttonieres and two pillars at the end of the aisle near the altar. i could only laugh at that. hahahha!
@vanessuh: I understand... a lot of people find it a waste of money to spend a lot on the decorations. hahaha! We wanted a simple decor supposedly but our wedding was right after my sister's and her decors were awesome! My dad wanted something like that also since he heard nice feedbacks from the guests on the decors... so we were forced to spend on our decorations... (fortunately, my dad offered to shoulder some of the expense) hehehe. He was the one who wanted it anyway... not us! hehehe!
and yeah... the weddings there in the US are quite simple... maybe that's because everything there is just so expensive!!! But I guess ingon ana lang gyud sa US. Even Donald Trump's wedding didn't have that much decor... hahaha... and money is not a question for him! hahaha.
Our video turned out really really good... not the traditional wedding videos you see around (this is what we specified to joey from the beginning hehehe)... My husband and I are sort of "anti-traditional" hahaha! Things turned out really great.
As for the pictures, Jim and Michael did our album very well! We're very satisfied
I'll visit your site soon and check out your photos! Thanks!
vanessuh, went to your site, your pictures are great! You look so pretty... and you're right... you got your money's worth with your decors!
well, i guess your dad loves his 2 girls so much that he wants to give them the best that he canif it was up to me, i'd accept my mother-in-law's offer in a blink of an eye. hahahha! but really, you had great decors. you have great pics to look through in the future years and reminisce the memories.
i'm looking forward to another reception that we'll be having in my husband's state. i had my cebu wedding (a church wedding), our legal wedding was here where i live now (vancouver)... and his family is wanting to have another one since some of them weren't able to go to cebu... and they've got tons of friends they wanted to invite as well. we were supposed to have it in december but my visa is not yet readyi can't enter the US since i have an impending application... so the reception will have to wait. i'm wanting to have sunflowers. i actually had wanted to use that in my cebu wedding but where will i get them, you know? they're my favorite flowers and you really haven't seen a wedding that uses sunflowers, right? but i don't know whether that's possible since they're from hawaii (plumerias and hibiscus nalang. hahah!) and sunflowers are only available in autumn.
and oh! i'm curious. in your sister's wedding, what were those hanging things? some sort of vines? i love the total effect... like weird and alien-y but you can't take your eyes off of it. hahahha!
Yeah... he really does I guess. hahaha. I'm lucky to have a dad like him... so lucky
Wow... three receptions? hahaha! But I guess you just have to give in to your husband's family's request... sunflowers are nice... I dont think there's any hope having sunflowers for decors here in cebu. hahaha.
Those are vines hanging from the ceiling... her wedding theme was italian garden. Under the vines is a wine fountain... the vines were intertwined with series lights to give the nice effect.![]()
