IF God really exists, I think He would he be happier and more proud of us if we did good things with our lives without caring if he existed or not. We do good without being told to do so or without the need for reward of heaven or fear of hell. To me , that is genuine goodness because doing good for one's own salvation is just a selfish act. In the reward system of heaven, helping others is not really the end goal.. it just becomes the means for helping yourself.
In short, what I'm trying to point out is this..
1. Do we do good because of God ?
OR
2. Do we do good without caring if God exists or not?
To me the 2nd statement is more courageous and more genuine.
