@Springfield: First of all, I'm not going into an argument with you. Because I admit, I'm not a TATTOO expert. I was just commenting on your post:
As a consumer, wa sad mi nagpataka ug pili ug tattoo shop... When we got there, the first thing we did was to look at their portfolio... had a good look at a tattoo of a person's mother at his back that looked exactly like the picture and we were very impressed. And this was way before we knew that they were famous. And this being our first time, we wanted of course, a good artist to do it... I dont want regretting this my whole life.They have the exposure but it doesnt mean mga maayo sila
In case I was vague before, I was just not gauging their skill just from my "little dolphin tattoo." I know there are a lot of BETTER tattoo shops that you can find... I wasn't saying they are the best. I was just satisfied with their work on me... it wasn't my goal anyway to have the "best dolphin tattoo" in the world.
You have your views on them and I have mine... and I base mine on what I saw firsthand at their shop. I'm just sharing to these people here, tattoo enthusiasts, about my experience and some information. For you, they may not be worthy of the fame they're getting... but people still recognize them and i don't think there's anything wrong with that. In the first place, do you think they will be famous and continue to be famous if they're not even good?
As to the rest of what you're saying, I agree. Going to tattoo conventions will let you find the best of the best... that's supposedly is the purpose, for the best artists to showcase their skills. And you are right, people who are better sometimes don't get the fame that they deserve... mao lang gyud nang kalibutan... I guess they should just wait for their luck to come around.
Anyway, It's best if we just go back to the topic.
@Ian: good luck!
