murag vintage gyud Bro hehehe! I googled Talon Zipper.
Talon Zipper was a company founded in 1893, originally as the Universal Fastener Company, in Chicago. They later moved to Hoboken, New Jersey, and finally to Meadville, Pennsylvania. It was in Meadville that the zipper as we know it was invented, until then they were producing hookless fasteners for boots and shooes. Here, the zipper was mass produced beginning in the 1920s. The high demand for zippers created favorable conditions for the Talon Company, and so became Meadville's most crucial industry. The company encountered significant difficulties after it was sold to Txtron industries in 1978, eventually ending up bankrupt. Today, nothing remains of Talon in Meadville except for a few run down buildings. However as a result of the need for close tolerances and tool and die makers, a cottage industry of tool and die shops was established which resulted in Meadville being nicknamed Tool City with more tool shops per capita than any place else in the United States. Other early names included the Automatic Hook and Eye Company, and the Hookless Fastener Company. They were the first zipper manufacturing company. The brand is now part of TagitPacific.
Talon, the world's oldest zipper maker, has pioneered most of the innovations taken for granted today. Intricate, yet logical. Impressive and deceptively simple. The zipper has evolved from curiosity to necessity a living symbol of American ingenuity and inventiveness at its best.

YKK Group - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The YKK Group (YKKグループ Waikeikei Gurūpu?) is a Japanese group of manufacturing companies. As the world's largest zipper manufacturer, YKK Group is most famous for making zippers; however, it also manufactures other fastening products, architectural products, as well as industrial machinery.
The initials YKK stand for 吉田工業株式会社 (Yoshida Kōgyō Kabushikigaisha?), Yoshida Manufacturing Corporation.
YKK claims to be the first zipper company to promote environmental protection measures. YKK developed a line of "environmentally friendly zippers", following the company's philosophy "The Cycle of Goodness," which means that one prospers when one renders benefit to others.

Guide to Vintage Clothing Zippers
The most important aspect of vintage clothing is being able to identify how old an article of clothing is. There are many clues that can be found in the details of every garment. One of the common features that can be used to help identify what era an item is from is the zipper. Many zipper names such as crown, conmar, conmatic, ideal, gripper zipper, prentice, scovill, talon, and YKK to name a few have been found on a variety of vintage garments from the 20th century. This page will help identify types of vintage zippers and the time period that they were primarily used, as well as give a brief history about the company behind the zipper. Additional information with details about each type of zipper will be available in the near future by clicking on the photo below. If you have a zipper photo that we do not have on this page please send us a photo and information.

Fun Facts on Levis
When Levi Strauss invented jeans during the 1800’s he did not call his strange pants denim jeans or even jeans at all. These trousers were originally made out of sailcloth and canvas for miners and prospectors to wear as they were complaining about how their ordinary pants would stretch and split on the job. As the canvas became short in supply he switched to a sturdy fabric called serge made in Nimes France known as Serge de Nimes which later on was shortened to “Denim.” They were originally called “waist overalls.”
The first pair of Levi’s cost only $1.25 in 1880. In fact, one of those original pairs actually sold for $46,532. So what exactly does the YKK on the zipper of your Levi’s stand for? It actually is for Yoshida Kogyo Kabushibibaish, the world’s largest zipper manufacturer. The Levis visitor’s center actually opened in 2003 for the company’s 150th anniversary. The center features historic and current collection of clothing and documents. There is everything from letters to company advertisements to garment made by contestants in “Project Runway” earlier this year.
The world’s oldest pair of jeans is from 1879. One unusual and funny fact is that Levi Strauss hired Jefferson Airplane in 1967 to record a radio commercial for the company. The company can’t replay the song, “White Levi”, which was a version of the song “White Rabbit”. It had some lyric changes due to copyright issues. Another fact is that people actually like to be close with really old stuff says Levis historian Lynn Downey. You should not place any barriers between people and history. In the body of the corporate headquarters on 1155 Battery St in San Francisco you can visit the headquarters for Levi Strauss.
The movie star Bruce Willis actually appeared in the first series of Levi’s 501 Blues commercials around 1986. When the song “Spaceman” by Babyon Zoo was used in a Levi’s jean ad in 1995 it was destined to be number one in the UK. The part used in the ad was the very start of the song which sounds as if the song will be a dance song. People bought the song because of this only to take it home and play it and found it was a rock song. Other songs to hit the top after being used in their ad include “The Joker” by the Steve Miller Band, “Inside” by Stilts kin and “Boombastic” by Shaggy.
