lol, true.. they can track you if they want to. but do you think they are monitoring every customer's bandwidth usage? do they have mrtg for every customer for them to notice any spike in bandwidth? or snmp on their boxes for them to notice what goes in/out for certain port? i don't think so and i don't think they will do that because there are sooo many customers.
our company also provides internet service (upstream side). we are doing such thing - monitoring of bandwidth, investigating sudden spike of traffic on certain service/port, port/content filtering and etc. based from experience, i'd say that ISPs here can only track you if they will keep an eye on you.. and again, that's very unlikely due to the number of subscribers here. they may notice traffic on torrents (if they are not blocking the ports, like pacnet) from their NOC, but it's not that easy for them to track you.
