there is no such thing as secret marriage....people refer to civil wedding when they're talking about secret marriage...
it's been practiced by people since ang procedure sa civil wedding is somewhat faster compared to church kay ang church naa pa pre-cana seminars and blessing from the bishop or any priest in charge of the said venue of the wedding...
while in civil wedding, all you need are two witnesses...to attest that in deed there is a ceremony on that so and so day... for the age...both parties must be of legal age, which is 18yrs old in our standards....18-24 yrs old party must secure a document we call parental consent....parental consent can be signed by any relative of the concerned party...pwede ang tita, tito or any of the parents....without this, the judge won't perform any wedding...
while ang parties aging 25-26 need parental advise...this is not necessary....anyone can just sign over this document....so mao ni ingon sa uban nga secret marriage kay pwede ra ang consintidor nga tita or tito ang mopirma ani nga mga documents....anyway, civil wedding is considered public document....and therefore, open for public viewing...anyone can check on the civil registry and it's not secret after all.....
