looks like it was a bad trade for talk n text, not only were they eliminated by Asi Taulava, it looks like the draft pick that they'll be getting from coca cola wont be as high now that coke's record is getting better...
Asi Taulava finished with 22 points and 25 rebounds but suffered some leg cramps. The obviously weary Coca-Cola Tigers lost to the Alaska Aces.
It's Taulava's 15th double-double and second 20-20 finish of the season.
Pro loop awards rights to Pinoy TV
THE Philippine Basketball Association board of governors decided to grant the international TV coverage rights of the games to GMA-7’s Pinoy TV Channel, moving out of ABS-CBN’s The Filipino Channel, which is widely watched by Filipinos around the world, but is now reportedly being challenged for viewership by the GMA channel.
The board, which meets on Monday, is expected to ratify the decision in which GMA-7 will reportedly pay the pro league $200,000 for the first year of a two-and-a-half-year contract.
The board will also take up the issue of the national TV broadcast rights in which GMA-7 has indicated an interest most likely for telecast over QTV-11.
The local coverage is handled by ABC-5, which is owned by Tonyboy Cojuangco and whose franchise expires at the end of the 2007-2008 season in July.
No decision has been made on the local coverage with ABC-5, Solar Sports as well as Studio 23 among those being considered aside from GMA-7.
Prior to its discussions on the TV franchise, Butch Jimenez of PLDT who was formerly a top executive of GMA-7, will provide the board some sort of an overview of the television industry.
............may na lang kay dili sa channel 7 ipasalida kon dili adto sa QTV....wahahaha..........

Alaska will be champs!!! bwehehehehe!!!
National Team head coach Chot Reyes will be in the PBA sidelines again and will be calling the shots for the Talk 'N Text PhonePals. The Talk 'N Text management will no longer re-sign current head coach Derrick Pumaren after his contract will expire on February 2008. Under Pumaren, the PhonePals made one finals appearance and one third place finish in 4 four conferences.
The Asi Taulava trade did a big blow on Pumaren as it destroyed much of the team's chemistry and placed the PhonePals in a dubious situation in the draft since Coca-Cola's record got better since acquiring Taulava.
Chot Reyes will be reuniting with Nationals Renren Ritualo and Jimmy Alapag and probably the right coach to guide young guns Mark Cardona and Jay Washington. Minus one big man, pretty sure Talk 'N Text is back in contention. Reyes will be the 9th head coach for the team since joining the PBA in 1997. The previous 8 coaches are Yeng Guiao (1996), Norman Black (1997), Eric Altamirano (1998-2000), Louie Alas (2000-01), Bill Bayno (2002-03), Paul Woolpert (2002), Joel Banal (2003-06), and Derrick Pumaren (2006-07).
i think TNT is now complete..they have the talent and now they have the coach..
