    Off topic:

just have to post this, because we were on a similar situation, more than a decade ago...after choosing engineering rather than going to the seminary, slowly I became a skeptic, questions floated in the air and I was secretly a self proclaimed atheist for a very short period of time...short because if it wasn't for a very remarkable event in my life, I wouldn't realized...let's just say I've witnessed an Emily-Rose-exorcism kinda' event...

months after that, I found myself on a charismatic community...

    @JOVI ...

Why do Catholics believe the Pope is infallible in his teachings when he is a human being, with a finite human intellect, like the rest of us? What is the scriptural basis for this belief?
Your question is kind of tricky . The INFALLABILITY of the POPE rested on being protected from errors . This doesnt mean he is impeccable (incapable of sin) or inerrant (incapable of error).

Mao ni siya ang pirme ma misinterpret because we relate it right away with being PERFECT which is not.

For a more in depth explanation , refer here :

    Papal Infallibility | Catholic Answers

Why do Catholics call their priests "Father" despite the fact that Jesus said: "Call no man on earth your father; for one is your Father, who is in heaven"! (Matt. 23:9)
To properly understand text in Sacred Scripture, one has to have a rather humble and objective attitude and not possessed by a prejudiced orientation.

Refer to this site for the answer and in depth explanation:

Call No Man "Father"? | Catholic Answers

Online references are better because I dont have to type anymore . As long as it is Catholic , then it should be legitimate to answer the questions here .

I was referring to my literature titled UNANSWERABLE ANSWERS by Fr. Manuel P. Duetao but I cant find it online.

I am a Catholic. Naa koy question about the existence of Saints.

Recently c Pedro Calungsod nahimo na nga Saint. How do Catholic leaders know nga Santos na si Pedro Calungsod when in fact wala man sila ni-adto sa langit and nibalik diri sa earth to prove that he becomes a saint there? We do not even know, maybe he is in hell; or na-stuck up gihapon sa Purgatory.

Do Catholic leaders assume nga Santos c Pedro Calungsod, or naay message from HEAVEN telling them nga santos na xa?

Wether or not sa langit saint nana si Pedro bro, it still good diri sa yuta nga nahimong saint si Pedro, kay syempre mahimo mana siyang inspirasyon ug model sa mga katawhan bro esp to the youth..

    Thanks sa reply Xian.

So pwede ra masantos ang usa ka taw bisag naa xa sa imperno? Kay akong thinking, there is no way for people on Earth makabaw if ang taw nalangit o na-impyerno. That is, there is no perfect assurance nga naa sa langit c pedro calungsod. Suppose naa sa imperno c Pedro Calungsod, ok rna xa i-declare as Saint for Catholics?

Hahaha kuyaw sad ka'g huna2 da,. naa may daghang saints bro nga maybe naa sa langit maybe naa sa impyerno, example akong sangay nga si St. Dominic of Caleruega, rumor has it nga siya ni take part atong Inquisition wherein Christians killed thousands of heretics and burned witches at stake.. naa pud si St. Vladimir of Kiev, a viking saint who had 800 wives a pagan, killed his brother, and you well know what other things vikings do.. St. Louis who hated Jews and took part in the Inquisition. Saint Olaf was also a viking, i dont have to tell you what he did...

so it goes to show nga daghang saints ang makasasala, whether or not naa sila sa impyerno o porgatoryo o asa pana diha, it doesnt really matter now, coz they will always be remembered only for the good things they've done, siguro santos diri sa yuta, pero sa langit i dont know, as the old saying goes, "Ginoo ray nakabaw".. Whether or not you praise them sinner saints, ang importante diha nga natagaan ka ug giya or inspirasyon nga mamaayo, and that my friend is the most important. Bisan pa ciguro ug kinsa na imong ampoan bro para nko no big deal as long as wala ka nangdaut ug tawo, as long as buotan gihapon ka sa imong isig kaingon,. Just my opinion though,.

parihas ni atong gi ingon ni Papa Jesus bro nga it is easier for a camel to enter the eye of a needle than an unrepentant rich man to enter the Kingdom of God, i'm paraphrasing but you get my point, as long as naay true repentance, nig kamatay dawaton gihapon na sa langit, matud nila.. as a Catholic you should know that.

Di ba kaha naay conflict if atung huna hunaon ug tarung na nga idea? mu ingun tah Ang ginoo ray nakahibalo nya kita sad diay mu decesion if ang isa ka tawo santos or dili. So kahibalo sad diay tah?

If wa man diay tah kahibalo nga ang isa ka kalag tua nas langit or wala, nganu adtu man natu ipaagi atung pag ampo niya?

ug sabton ug tarung, murag wa may sense.

I asked this question once . Indeed Ginoo ra gyud nakahibalo yet , for one to become a saint, it undergoes a very crucial investigation to make sure it avoids errors on results.

That is the reason why POSTULATORS in Vatican carefully studies this events and accounts. In the case of San Pedro Calungsod , our friend and confidant , Agustinian priest and chief postulator , Fr. Fernando Rojo did a good job on this .

The miracles that occurs are themselves the messages already from the Heavens . One good example on this , like St. Nicolas de Tolentino , pwerting ka milagroso . When he was still alive , he has 301 mircales under his belt prior to canonization na only 3 are needed gani . Anyways , in one of his miracles , as tradition speaks about it , a fellow Augustinian brother appeared in a dream/visions/images of Purgatory asking for prayers and masses to be offered for the repose of their souls and to be cleanse so they can enter Heaven .

This is a challenge for San Nicolas because during that time , di ni kaya mo hatag ug misa ana kadaghanon within a week , if I am not mistaken murag 100 ka mass offerings kay naa baya sila strict scheduling ato sa monasteryo . To make the long story short, na offer niya tanan and this was manifested when the Augustinian brothers appeared again in his dream ang thankful because they are now in Heaven.

This is the reason why St. Nicolas de Tolentino is the patron saint of the POOR SOULS in PURGATORY.

    @ SIODENZ ...

Naa nay sense because RCC are only recognizing the ordinary people who did extraordinarily well while being here on earth with us. Right now , we have mga 10,000 kapin na saints na CANONIZED , yet I am sure being a person who lived long enugh to know the life on one of my loved ones , I am even sure , 100% na siya santos pod para nako because she lived well according to God's commandments .

Ang decision na ang tao ma SANTOS or DILI is for us to manifest because of the gift of FREEDOM, its just that for ages , people tried and attempts to discredit it by making it ILLEGITIMATE like canonization happens overnight . Its not and its a process.

Again .... prayers through the INTERCESSION of the SAINTS kay redundant na kaayo . Its either KABALO na ka sa tubag ana because we already explained it once somewher or di lang nimo madawat jud. You dont have to keep it , just embrace it.

bro im not a Catholic, so let me speak in my own behalf, this is my own opinion when i was a catholic..

Atong judgement kutob ra diri sa kalibutan, sa langit naay higher court for that.. for me, to assume nga malangit ang usa ka tawo is premature, hence the "whether or not" phrase,.

bro bisag sa kahoy pa nto ipaagi atong pag-ampo, for me it's no big deal, bisag naay verse sa bible nga dili pwede, as long as ni respect ka sa imong isig kaingon ug buotan gihapon ka, to me mao rnay importante.. The kind of God that you believe hears you no matter where you pray it to, He would always know that your prayers are for Him..
