OT: Daan naman sab gyud na ang hardcore nga term.... and often times it is used as an adjective (to describe someone's dedication towards something ... or to describe the intensity of something just like in PORN - hardcore porn). Pero nowadays, the word 'core" is being tagged to just about anything... and usually they're just there to make something sound cool... at least that's what I think.

Well, apparently there is a conflict within the message itself... It says that PEOPLE SHOULD BE THEMSELVES.. However, the line "stop wearing eyeliner guys.. IT DOESN'T LOOK GOOD" is downright discriminatory.. What if a guy really wants to wear eyeliner?? the line that says "IT DOESN'T LOOK GOOD" is, in a sense, an imposition of the writer's OWN FASHION SENSE, that is, HE HATES EYELINER...

you got it wrong bro, what the poster means is: Scene kids nowadays dont really care about the "ethics" anymore,they are more focused on their "image"... People who are much more attached to the "How do i look" principle than the "How are my actions" side of view - Fashioncore -

It just means that he's being a responsible father/bread-winner (regardless of his disadvantages) .... but then, he would be more responsible if he collects scrap in the morning and go to vocational school at night so in 2 years, he can make a decent living.... and that's called overcoming adversity... more hardcore, right? (but we're getting way off topic here).

i do understand what you mean bro... I've been around the underground scene for the longest time.. both the punk scene and the reggae scene.. trust me, i've seen the worst poseurs and the mis-educated scenesters.. And, although i'm far from being an authority on the subject, i'm also familiar with Hardcore/straight edge ethos of positivity..

it's just that i can't help but criticize the poster... i don't think he meant that ONE statement to be sarcastic... although i respect the author's opinion, it's still discriminatory... because, in my point of view, there is almost no difference between A TATTOO and EYELINER... Both of these are overt representations of a person's character...

Anyway, we cant help it. Kids nowadays will bite anything na uso (its just me talking)..hehe
So much have been said its pretty much just opinions that only the pioneers of this genre can justify..Rather than talking about the genre itself can we just talk about the bands under it?

Band: Orchid - Genre: screamo, hc, semi emo...kinsa maminaw ani? if you are into fastpaced hcpunk with a touch of screamo then i recommend this band.
