No I do not think all members are inexperienced young punks, but many are, and display it on a regular basis here on the forum. I am not an accomplished botanist. I never pursued my Doctorate, have no Theory named after me, and I am not a Noble Laureate or Holder. I am just a biologist and practicing botanist. I only worked for NASA for 11 years (well 10 years 11 months), but so did a lot people. NASA is just a job like any other job, just really good benefits. NASA employs a lot of folks. You fancy yourself as an authority of science and what a scientist should actually be, so why don't you apply for a job there?

How can I believe the earth was created in 6 days and the universe is 15 billion years old. Simple I understand the Hebrew text has been misinterpreted. I am still a man of science and understand Einsteins theory of relativity, why Newton law of Gravity had to be revised so it works in the whole of the universe. I understand that all the Suns, stars, planets, and space litter makes up less than 5% of the mass required to hold the universe together, that Dark Matter is only 20% of the required mass, and 70% of our universe is comprised of a mass called Dark Energy which is invisible misunderstood undiscovered concept of mass that moves around and through us constantly.

you can't simply base the age of the earth from the texts of ancient scriptures. if you understand all of those you've mentioned, then you would know that the earth is billions of years old.

can you really? ows? reality is, Atheists are hard to identify unless they come out of the closet and identify themselves as Atheists. there are many (take note, many) that are closet Atheists for fear of rejection from the community, their loved ones, and friends. there are extreme cases wherein a person can't find a job because he's an Atheist (although very rare). that's just one of too many example of atheist rejection. our society is not ready for these people. that's why a lot of atheists pretend to be Christians just so people will not see them differently, but deep in their minds, they are Atheists.

My being a botanist, or working for NASA, or American, or 51 has little weight. I only try to be honest and I am not Narcissistic. I never post in the Science section of the forum, for two reasons. Most member only cut and paste, and most of the Posted topics have little appeal to me. If I wanted to be Narcissistic and act inportant then I would live in that Forum section. I also post on several Expat forums sites, but who wants to talk to a bunch of fat drunk Kano perverts?

I like this Forum section because most Forums refuse to talk religious topics. I am no priest or preacher, I want nothing from you, will never ask you for money. I will only qoute that which is written in Scripture. I am blunt, gruff, and gritty. That is the Texan and the Jarhead in me. You are free to believe or disbelieve because you have the same Free Will as me. I have a full life and if you agree or disagree does not change my tomorrow. I only cast the seed and hope people are willing to ask intelligent question in an attempt to learn. That is called fellowship.
Members who want to only argue for the sake of argue, that only want to choose ridicule, taunts, insults and are insincere to fellowship; I just pass them off, because they are a waste of time.

That has been the point I have tried to make since the first week I joined this forum. I was told I was a bad scientist, a disgrace and poor example of a christian only because I choose to be a Christian. Thank you. You can be a good Christan and still be an outstanding scientist. I personally believe the more science progresses and the more we review the ancient wordings of the Biblical text, correcting the mistakes, that the true is there between the two sources. If God created the universe then science was his tool. Science has done great things but it is still an infant and needs a lot more maturity before it can answer many of the questions we demand from it.

For some added trivia, ever heard of Project Steve? google time james.
I never realized 51% of Biologist were named Steve, but after the Google research and then some personal reflection I remembered that a lot of guys I worked with were named Steve. So if you have a son name him Steve, because he may grow to be a scientist.

There is no World wide poll, but most of the larger Science Organizations are in the US, and that is probably were they would have gotten their mailing list to send the Poll. Most Scientist are members of one of the Organizations and there is a large on in Europe as well, whether they contacted them, I do not know.

Most the time I try to be respectful, you yourself have implied I was a liar, I have been called a poor excuse of a scientist, foolish, closed minded, brain dead, told members were sorry for me, my wife, and my son. And that was for being a Creationist. I have gotten much the same for being a Christian. You are not the only member on the Forum.

You also have to understand my style of writing as well, I respond to the forum more than to a single member. I will answer a member's question but sometime I post a response that is meant for several members. It is just how I write write, please check the terms You or They, Them, Others. My negative response on you post may not be all about you. I also have a gruff nature which is the Jarhead and South Texas upbringing. There is nothing wrong about being a inexperienced young punk. You have a world of discovery and adventure ahead of you. Live every day to the fullest and enjoy being young do everything that you can handle. I did and I have done some amazing things and have lived an incredible life. I retired on my 50th birthday and packed my whole family and moved to another country just for the family adventure. I will always be a young punk at heart. I hope you grow to be a pillar of your community. Me I just enjoy being a little man, being Narcissistic is not one of my faults. I like being simple.

There are members who want to question "How can you possibly believe?" and not "What is it that you believe?" and there is a big difference in the two attitudes. I am on these forum topics to have my faith questioned, challenged, probed, and not have my mental stability questioned because of my faith.

Just over 15 billion, but if you watch that 5 part video I posted you will see what I discovered about 15 years ago. I was working with several Jewish scientist that were personally retranslating from Hebrew text and were researching Bible Codes. Both were a inspiring, and then they were testing it with the sciences. It helps when most of the sciences exploring the universe are in one building.

as what i have mentioned to you, it is not from a religious group, i'm not also a christian, i'm a catholic but not so devout one, but i respect all religious group including atheists (niagi sab ko ani sauna), i learn many things in my study of mysticism... why i became an atheist and its purpose, and the purpose of all religion

tithing is not limited to giving to the church, you can also give it to the people who need money, the less fortunate people, hit by calamities, sick people in the hospital and many others...

the real essence of tithing is the act of giving, as long as these religious group give heartily to their church, then they are practicing and following that universal law
