There are some intellectual personalities (like Warren Buffett or Bill Gates or the late Richard Feynman), by virtue of their temperament, who are just inclined---to use the apt phrase---"to not suffer fools gladly." In other words, no-nonsense intellectuals. I wish we had more of these people around.
I would say rodsky's been fair, firm and consistent. I once (long time ago) had a thread in the Science section locked up, but he lets me know why he closed it. There are rules to follow, and I understood. That's what I want from a moderator...although I wouldn't expect or demand it every time.
Springfield, based on my brief exchanges with him (again, a long time ago), I find to be a level-headed guy, i.e. he makes an attempt to see your point. And after a series of back-and-forths, we can calmly agree to disagree. No personal attacks, no name-calling, no flaming...very civilized.
Having said that, we know it's not a perfect world and people will have their moments of weakness. But...good job so far. Keep it up!
