MAG PROTEST DIN KAYO DITO SA VSMMC.
I hope I won't offend you by saying this, since you mentioned na "parang nag validate yung sinabi ni Teri Hatcher", you mean to say, one way or another you believe what they said was true? that the medical schools here in the Philippines are nothing but crap? I hope not. A single video/ a single incident doesn't validate what they said about the medical schools in our country. But as @omad has pointed out in his previous posts, this has gone way beyond that of the DH issue, since this is real life and not just a TV show. And if Teri Hatcher and ABC are laughing right now then I must say they're dumber than I thought. Those in the medical profession especially those working abroad know a whole lot better, and I assure you there's no way this embarassing incident validated any of the ABCs claims in the DH tv show.

Several medical societies in the Phil. have already released their statements, and all are condemning the act. Many are clamoring to have their licenses revoked, and I hope it gets revoked. The PRC has promised to make conduct an investigation and they're waiting for the results of the hospital investigation. Several well-known and highly respected doctors are already making their statements in the local papers, so it's not that we need to protest there in VSMMC right? Or you still think it's better for doctors, nurses, PTs OTs, Medtechs to still protest and picket in front of VSMMC just to show to the whole world we're against it.

this goes to show that employees in VSMMC should at least be given a monthly seminar on how to be morally ethical and be more of a health care provider than being a "shameless pervert they all are"..

i know that this matter is sensitive and i know i am also against this act.. i am a nurse too and i am true to my profession. I dont discriminate but sad to say most are..especially in sotto where most people die and was not given a chance to be provided with a good service because they dont have money to pay the hospital even if it is an emergency.

my aunt is the head consultant of sotto and i tried to ask her about the issue and she tells me " Malas na lang jud sa nag apil2" they will be given punishment and i asked her that i hope dili nila tabunan ang naka sala.. she did assure me that.

    lets just wait until friday

    good luck to them

^ Unbeknownst to many, the names of the doctors involved have already spread among the members of the medical profession. I don't know about the nurses or the student nurses involved, however.

In any case, this is what is happening in our public hospitals. Too much discrimination. What the hospital lacks is guidance. I've seen this happen too often, a medical graduate enters residency training in a public hospital, PGH, VSMMC, any district hospital. And the moment they finish their training, they have become "mata-pobre", anti-poor. What's up with that? What happened to the ethics and professionalism they brought with them after medical school? Gone in just under a year? Had they entered training in a private hospital, they would have kept their ethics and professionalism intact for the entire duration of their residency.

I don't know about any interns involved however. But we will know after the investigation. Unfortunately, for interns, they are the real "itoy" of the doctor. Any medical intern will attest to that. They will just follow what the resident orders them to do, no questions asked. (ask a question, and you'll be reprimanded for not knowing) So, malas na lang sa kanila, nadamay sila sa kahayupakan ng kanilang resident. As far as I know, the doctors involved were resident physicians of the hospital. I don't know if a PGI or intern was involved.

And also, as far as I know, the video has been spread long before it was uploaded in youtube. It just took one more dumb, immature and foolish act for this to become a full-blown spectacle.

c'mon guys, do not care what other people from other countries would say about it. naa ra na nato kung magpada ta sa nahitabo sa sotto. kung naa nata sa US, i prove nato nga we are world class. and its my choice to give the utmost service that i can provide and what my patients need. gamay ra kau toh nga kaso. samot ka dako ang atay ni teri hatcher. its time to show them that we are world class, NO MATTER WHAT!!!

and this would serve a BIG LESSON kamong mga doctor nga nagbugal2x ra. pait bya intawn kung kamoy patiente. ug ka2ng mga intern nga gasugod pa gali, tuga2x na mog kabuang. its a wake up call to all people in the medical field!

I think most of the staff sa Sotto condemns this act man sad siguro. Kahibaw man sad tingali ta that in all medical schools, dili ka kagraduate kung dili ka makapasar sa Bioethics from 1st yr to 4th yr... ambot lng pod kaha sa Nursing.... so please don't generalize all the staff sa Sotto... it is true that by statistics daghan jud ang mangamatay anang ospitala, pero come to think of it sad, kinsa man nga mga pasyente dira ug pila man ang ginadala dira? Another thing is, kapos jud na sa budget hospitala, so unsa man sad nga klase nga healthcare ato ma-expect? My point is, dili lng tingali nato i-generalize ang hospital and tanan staff sa VSMMC, kay kahibaw ta nga kani nga issue tungod ra sa staff involved and does not hold true for all... I am saying this coz I know nga tanan Medical Interns and Student Nurses dinhi sa Cebu mo-agi jud dira nga hospital, and it is really true, that it is home to some of the blatant doctors and nurses, but it is also true that it is also home to some of the compassionate and caring doctors here in Cebu.... To work in that hospital is like hell, tungod sa kalisod sa kahimtang sa mga pasyente ug staff, and yet some doctors and nurses stand out to be good, mura na siya ug mission hospital, na kun motrabaho ka dinha, dili na trabaho or serbisyo imo gihuna2x but SAKRIPISYO . . . i am saying this because i used to work there, and i admire some the compassion of some doctors and nurses there (and i really hate some)... I just think it is very unfair sad sa ila nga part ba na tungod kay taga-Sotto na sila, parehas na jud sila sa mga taw nga naa sa video...

I think this issue has become very sensationalized to the point of attacking the whole hospital... It is easy for people to say ingon ana ka bati ang hospital, but wait, nakahibaw ba ta kung unsay tinu-od nga sitwasyon sa hospital? With the new administration, i know it has improved its services and all its facilities but dili jud tingali ta ka-expect ug private accomodations sama sa Chong Hua or CDUH.... Dili sad tanan doktor sa Sotto polpol and insensitive... Luoy lang sila kay damay sad sila sa pagkadaot sa name sa hospital... Basta sa katong nakakita sa video and walay hanaw sa ins and outs sa Sotto, kung ang condition sa mga pasyente and hospital istoryahan, blame our government . . . and with regards to this controversial vid, blame that team only especially ang nag-upload sa vid for the whole world to see! nagdamgo tingali na sila pag-Bioethics nila. Luoy sad tawn ang uban dira nga naningkamot ug tinarong ug trabaho despite sa kalisod ug kadaghang pasyente . . .
