DPWH schedules repair works for roads to hotels, summit sites

The repair and clearing of roads leading to hotels and tourist destinations will be the priority of the Department of Public Works and Highways 7 this year, to prepare for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) summit this December.

Engineer Juanito Aber-gas of the DPWH said he instructed district engineers in Cebu to identify areas and come up with detailed estimates for the repair works needed.

Some of the projects will include road widening and the destruction of structures that encroach on thoroughfares, including residences of squatters.

i think it's dec 14 or 15, naka kta ko sa local news pag inaugurate ni gloria sa UV, she even declared it local holiday already..nndot f tanan mo cooperate pra mas humot ang cebu sa foreigners...sakto 2 ingon sa taas nga kinahanglan seminar ang mga jeepney ug taxi drivers basin ila pd daun na pang ilaron ang mga foreigners which is not gud for tourism although ginagmay ra na but it affects the industry.

i'm glad of the plan that the summit be conducted in cebu. manila is not the only place in the philippines who can host such event.

If I remember it right, daghan na na-held sa Cebu.. Wow we're on our way na to become a Convention city:
