probably you are using the sound driver which has driver signed and version that only support for windows98! try to update your driver from the original manufacturer (check on the manual of your driver, scan the manufacturer URL and the country that is being made. getting into their correct domain is important also in order to have the correct version for your driver. your device may have the same name but different version. make sure you get into the right site from where it is being made). when you get into their sites, find the udpate or download driver then give the spec information of your device and choose the windows xp compatibility. if ever you cant find the correct driver or no winxp driver for it, then probably your device is old. try the generic driver, but careful in selecting it can permamently damage your device and worst the CPU itself.

troubleshooting your xp if think your hit by a spyware. if you dont have anti spyware installed on your pc your going to have difficult time to find the program that has spyware. try this steps:
1.) wether your in normal mode or in safe mode. open the system restore program ( start -> all programs -> accessories -> system tools -> system restore) select on "restore my computer to an earlier time" then click next.
select the high lighted date (bolded font) which you think that your computer has no trouble at that time then click next.
2.) un install all your program and clear all msconfig start up only
3.) after a succesful restore re configure your dial up connection or best is to create new.
4.)after connecting to the net. go to the microsoft download site, and download the microsoft anti spy ware beta version for free even if your OS is non genuine (means piracy). then install the software. have also a good anti virus as well. (my PC has AVG anti virus free edition. its free to download and best is you can update anytime for virus pattern for free and more lifetime for free. unlike norton, mcaffe, etc.. has limit for one year otherwise you have to pay again for update, and also they occupy a great amount of your memory, thats how it sometimes they degrade your pc performance.) i suggest that never install or run two or more anti virus and more than two anti spyware, it is not recommended and it will only give unstable make you vulnerable to any threat. scan your pc thoroughly.
5.) if you know how to use the registry editor it will be great, but be cautios otherwise OS will crash and youll have to reinstall the OS.
6.) install all the programs and drivers then create a new restore point after you check everything that PC is okay and clean.

guys, i hav a prob.i need help.

I cracked (exe file from internet) my windows xp sp1 so that i dont have to activate coz i dnt hav an internet. it was ok for a month or two but after few installations, i was asked to activate the windows again. i try to run the crack program but it's not working. i restored the original wpa.dbl file but it's not working as well. i even edit the oobe & registry.

Is there any workaround for this without reinstalling Windows XP? I have a lot of programs installed and it will take me who whole day to install everything.

change the key w/o reinstalling windows xp. kay ganahan man ka dili license so use cracked key kanang key no need to register to the net.

i need help as well, How come my WinXp always show this "Windows-Registry Recovery" msg?? use of alternate copy is succesful.. it pops all the time i boot up. and often and always cge ko ug gamit System Recovery kay mawala ako internet connection,sound, tanan nalang klase na prob. is it becoz i'm using a pirated XP?? HELP!!
