Thread: Java or .Net?

I have a very minor correction ont the terminology, so it may help others understand java well.

JRE (java runtime environment) is the one comparable with .NET platform and not the JEE. This is what you need to download in order to RUN java apps.

JEE is the Enterprise version of its SDK (Software Dev't Kit). JME is the mobile edition while JSE is the standard edition SDK.
JSE/JME/JEE are the JDK flavors comparable to the Ms Studio compilers (C#/VB/C++). You need the SDK to develop Java apps.

JRE is another term for virtual machine. In DotNet, this is the CLR.

This is a nice comparison between the two.

im a .net bias. ehehehe. anyways how do you usually run java programs?. does it come with an .exe file?... i remember before you need to run it on commandline to run the application (that was one of the reason that i dislike java lol(back in the college days))

is there a way where in you just double click the application then it runs? without using batch files and .exe wrappers??.
