It is also observed bisan sa college and highschool mga bro, kasagaran sa naning mag "program" kay mga laki dba? gamay lang sa mga girls gusto programming bsan smart pa cla.
anyways legendary programmers are all Male (including game developers), streotype of being geek and nerds kay para sa mga male, and ofcourse wla pay WEb development or anything sayun sa una dba? puro pa mga low-level programming sa una which also includes hardware engineering, katng mga early days sa computers kay kasagaran sa mga studyante daw sa computer science are bunch of geeky males.
There are female programmers pero kasagaran sa ila sa mga not so extreme development like "web" or artist., sa field sa game development, firmware, drivers , OSes companies like Microsoft or Apple prefered male daw (as ive heard from someone).
So mas geek jd d ay ta..

hmm.. i think its pretty equal..when it comes to school..i guess nursing is more preffered for gurls..but in my experience, the girls on my school are up to par with their male counterparts and some are even more smarter or geeker if thats the word. some of my girl classmates now are even holding higher positions than their male counterparts. also in the office, our female counterparts are up to par with us when it comes to software engineering. in the place i work for, they've had their share of good software engineer girls.
boys likes to hold mouse while girls are afraid of mouse.![]()

male and female stereotypes. nyaha, biased kaayo mga guys..
why mostly boys? why don't we look at the nature of the work setting rather than argue about who's more logical/analytical (whether it is the men or women) because that is definitely a case-to-case basis.
where do we find most programmers? in the corporate world, isn't it? i guess this explains why. men still dominates the field. but watch out guys, the number of women is rapidly increasing.
let's admit it, this work is for introverts. what do programmers do all day? mostly they use computers. men can stand working all day all without much interaction with other fellows. women on the other hand are extraverts. women love to spend more time with other people. and what's more, women are expected to do jobs that are in line with health and education (nurses, teachers, librarians) that is why girls are given dolls as toys at a very young age.
i guess it is the society that dictates who will do the what. it is part of the socialization process. haven't you noticed what young boys receive as gifts during christmas? nintendo, playstation, computer ek ek. men are exposed to these stuffs earlier and frequently than girls.
@maia21: Ironically, stating that females are generally more extrovert than males is a biased stereotype. Research show that although 75% of the general population are extroverts while 25% are introverts, there is no clear bias for either gender. The only scale with a clear moderate bias is the preference for Thinking and Feeling. 50% of the general population are Thinkers, while 50% are Feelers; however, 60% of Thinkers are men, while 60% of Feelers are women.
Thus, more men are programmers because programming requires logical thinking when it comes to making decisions. Also, it is a myth that introverts are more shy than extroverts. An introvert may be gregarious too, but he will feel drained when there is too much people. He needs time to be alone to "re-energize". An insecure and unconfident extrovert, on the other hand, will be asocial.
The disparity between males and females in technical fields in general may be attributed to this and to other cultural factors as well. That is why I find women programmers hot. They are so rare.

kudos to you simoncpu. i guess i was making biased stereotypes with my post. point well taken, darling..
let me clear myself though. what i was trying to say is the tendency of males to be more introverted and the tendency of females to be more extraverted by the socialization process that each has to go through.
and oh btw, i was not referring to extraversion/intoversion per se (the "re-enegize" aspect) i was referring to the characteristics that each personality trait exhibits. i guess i don't have to enumerate that, do i?
there are countless jobs out there that requires logical thinking. this doesn't justify the reason why we have more male programmers. hey, this is a biased stereotype, too! Thus, more men are programmers because programming requires logical thinking when it comes to making decisions.
is this a copy paste or what? what's the issue with this? is there anything you want to dispute? clarify? Also, it is a myth that introverts are more shy than extroverts. hmmm... i am trying find the connection of these parallel statements. kindly enlighten me.The disparity between males and females in technical fields in general may be attributed to this and to other cultural factors as well. That is why I find women programmers hot. They are so rare.
It was an original post, darling. Not a copy and paste as what you've claimed.
It means that I also find girls that enjoy a heated debate at Istorya.net hot too (OK ra kung sapoton)... hehehe...hmmm... i am trying find the connection of these parallel statements. kindly enlighten me.
most male are the "logical" type while female tends to be the "emotional" type![]()
