Siargao kay naay mga longboards for rent(so i've heard). La Union more specifically sa San Juan town naay longboards for rent nya daghan locals nga motudlo. Beginner friendly ang waves...........layooooooooo lang kaayo. 6 hours by bus gikan sa cubao. Kas-a naabtan pa gyud ko ug 8 hours kay na dautan ang bus. Samar may also be a good place but i think it requires more advance abilities.
@aquafire : ive been planning to do dat...lisud lang kay mobile kaau ko. my dads goin back to oahu this month. we may be there 4 a couple of months...unta maka-organize mo pagbalik nko mkakuyog ko. balik jud ko kay dri man ko eskwela! all i got here is a beatboard (originally owned by my cuz), a 6'0" infinity/seven dub model. il try to save money to buy a new one, maybe a 6'8" quicksilver. any suggestion? kanang bagay sa girl nga 5'7" ang height n non-pro.
^^ i suggest you go with the minimals lang... i think the longboard/shortboard classification is no longer accurate, there are longboard na hard to learn and shortboards that are easy to learn. 6'8" board is a good start for you...
how about adto ta sa calicoan? i heard the place is good..
grabe ang waves sa liloan pag weekend... lingaw kaayo mga skimmers, naguol ang mga windsurfers and naa 2 ka surfers trying but the waves break inconsistently.. if naa breaks duol najud kaayu sa shore... hehe
@lolasurfer09:
Non-pro?I take it as you are sub-pro ? You live in Oahu? I started to learn surfing with a cuz who went to Oahu for college and came back a 'surfing godess'. and am still a grom forever. hehehe. I think you can handle a lot of boards types but if you are talking about Cebu, I'd agree with koykoy on getting at least a mini-mal. Anything shorter may be expecting too much from the waves in Cebu. But then again i may be wrong.
thank u, thank u...everything is noted. 'cant wait to buy a 6'8"..! (money matters nlang ang problema!).
@aquafire :
i wuz born in oahu (d hometown of kalani robb)...but dre ko sa cebu nagkamalay. its my first time to visit da place... i hope to get as much input re:surfing! wish me luck! nweis, where's that place u r talking about? hmmmmmmmm...maka-intriga!![]()
@ lolasurfer09:
I wish you all the luck. as for surfing , you know what to do....
btw is that you in the photo?
i'm from siargao. my lola's cousin is the mayor of Gen. Luna a.k.a. G.L. I stay there for 2 months. we have a private beach there where most of the junior surfers practice... for those interested, pm me. mag jamming ta sa siargao! p.s. i can help you look for suitable arrangements there. naa koy barkada who teaches surfing at a reasonable price.
ey guys... hahahahaha... good to see that this topic is alive. i was born in surigao city but i'm cebu base already. i have a 6'5" custom made board. shaped by my cousin from australia. but broke it over a reef in cloud 9 january last year. i broke it in 2 places. so i have no board for the meantime. i only have my leash and fins... mmmm... i heard there's some pretty good waves over in argao. i heard u'll get 4 ft plus waves on a windy day. so how about it? want to go and give it a try?
lolasurfer: we're about the same height... a 6'8" board is just ryt for our size.
koykoy: u can surf in liloan? unsa ka layo mu break ang waves from the shore? pila ka minutes paddle? i haven't heard of anybody catchin a wave in liloan... i heard approx. 2 ft lang daw ang waves didto measured from the back. good for skimboards but can't carry a surfboard.
ey lolasurfer? u in mindanao ryt now? where in mindanao?
