Are you exaggerating right? If that's true its ridiculous. In that case, blame the teacher only not the value of education.
Kani lang bai, you are misleading the kids, and a bit icky to my ears who valued a degree.
I wish I was. Having a degree is good, no doubt about it. If I implied that education has no value, then I apologize for that. But please note that I don't equate "A Degree" with "Quality Education", nor am I equating it with skill, creativity, and willingness to learn beyond. Anyway, we're really, really way OT now.

kani mo too jud ko ani.. ordinary employeers dont see real talents/skill...

Hehe.

OT: Time will come that you will regret for having not finished your degree..... For now, you can't realize it but as our age changes, maybe you will realize it at the age of 30....

i agree with xyberblue...your choice for not being able to finish school would haunt you...especially when you are pursuing a promotion!!..
Yeah! you might be learning ahead of others now!!..but this is a fast-paced world! Everything can be learned with a click of a mouse!...

And a degree might just be your ace to the top!....

Education is important especially in the US wherein they rely more on paper than on your capabilities. About those 16years getting a job and top dollar those are the exceptions rather than the rule, these kids you are reading are exceptionally talented and even better than their college grad counterpart. Unless you can match their qualifications then you are better off having a degree. Some companies here even look more on the certification than on experience.

My personal belief is in programming all you need to have is the logic, as long as you can formulate a solution to your problems then it doesn't matter what software you know. Software are just tools, all you need to do is learn how to use it but sad to say a lot of companies don't buy this.

Bro, have you heard of ETEAP in USJR? their offerring a short term courses in bachelors degree specially if you already have qualified working experiences. Dali ra ni mahuman unya Saturdays ra. For Diploma sake ra man kaha imo kay you already have the expertise in your field. Unya flexible man sab sa pacing sa course. Mahal-mahal lang kuno.

Bitaw bro, pwede ko ani mo apil? Limited ra ka-ayo akong experience in any programming (self study ra)
pero willing ka-ayo ko mo gahin ug oras ug singot para ma kat-on ani.

If you people are talking about games, i will expreess mine, ive been to game creation since i was high skul, now i graduated BSCompE and im fond of making games as a Hobby. I really am into gaming since i was a child. but i cannot compete with the programming industry when it comes to games.(gaming schools study more than 10 math majors) what i have in my guts is my imagination and dedication. i was a gamer since 4, and played a lot of games. too much of that that it tempt me to make one. that i started from scratch papers to modified cardboards and drawings. it did really gave my classmates a hell of fun. now i touched software creation. I started making games without the knowledge of
basic programming.I was just so eager that I learned a lot untill I finished my studies. I have created several games. they are not of high quality but i consider them as my works of art. I'll post my game screenshots later
