These are the kinds of stories that people would say "mutuo lang ko kung kakita ko" pero if you've ever talked to the person who experienced it you will know if they are lying kung sa sige nimo pangutana mausab iyang istorya. I do believe we are not the only beings living in this planet. There are supernatural beings out there... kay ug wala pa ni sila then why would people from different places have the same description about these beings? If isa ra ka tawo ang nag tumo-tumo ana then naa ra unta sa inyu dapit ang istorya and dili mo-spread sa ubang lugar and even here in the internet.

Back when I was in high school, naa mi silingan na well-known 'abat'. Good standing person in the community. Religious. How well-known? Well, there was one time about 2 or 3am when she "transformed" and nagbitay siya sa huge acacia tree just across the road from their house. As usual, dogs started howling. My uncle, who was an official in our town back then and who is neighbors with this 'abat' person, heard the noise the dogs were making and went outside. He saw the "thing" hanging on a branch and took out his baby Armalite (he was in the sugarcane business so he had a lot of guns). He was about to shoot it when the 'abat' called my uncle by his name and said "ayaw intawn. maluoy ka. Wala baya tawn ni nako pangayua". Since then my uncle has kept his distance although they are still friends. I know this because my uncle told my father about it. I think I was in elementary when this happened.

A few years later I was in high school and there was a popular bakery that opened just a few houses away from the house where the 'abat' lived. The owner was from here (Cebu) and he had brought along some of his workers who although were good guys but were a bit noisy at times (mga taga-Cebu na nanarbaho sa probinsiya -- feeling sikat sila hehehe). Didto lang sila mangatulog sa bakery. Me and my friends used to buy bread sa ilaha during break times and got to know these guys well. One night, bayle to so siyempre they got ready-- nangaligo sila medyo gabii na para ig adto sa baylehan humot pa. So kadtong nahuman na ligo ug ilis niuna na lakaw, until such time isa nalang nahabilin sa bakery. Naka-karsones ug sapatos na sya pero wa pa suota iyang senina. i've heard stories like this when i was still small. i can remember when my mother was pregnant, my father always put peeled orange skins in the windows. though i never heard "kikik" sounds back then, i understand that they just want to make sure the baby is safe..

Back in late 2000, my wife was pregnant with my son and she was in our open-air kitchen sa among boarding house talking to a friend while galuto sila para paniudto, siguro mga 7 or 8 months na iyang tiyan adto na time. Also she told me the night after that incident she would hear small footsteps on the roof near our room's window (we lived on the 2nd floor sa among boarding house sauna). When she heard them at first abi niya kawatan and she told me about it in the morning kay grave yard shift man ko adto na time.

The next night I was there kay I requested a change in shift. The sounds started around 11PM and would continue until 1AM or 2AM. The sounds were indeed footprints but they were kind of light to be a full-grown person or kawatan. I know this kay I used to walk on that same roof kay mangbutang ko ug Vulcaseal sa mga tulo. The noise of a person of even a child walking on that roof would be much louder. And another thing is, the light footsteps were slow and deliberate and would quickly move from the roof near our window to the roof of our bedroom -- about 8 feet high. And there are times na murag galakaw sya sa bungbung sa gawas. This happened for 2 nights. Out of curiosity, I would take a peek outside pero it was too dark and I couldn't really see anything.

We brought this up with our landlord and he quickly asked one of his sister-in-law in the compound about what she did kadto na time na naa sad nag-ingon adto niya kadto buntis sad siya. She advised us na mamalit ug ahos and asin ibutang sa bintana kung asa namo pirmi madungog ang tunob sa tiil. What I did was nipalit ko several bulbs of ahos then bitay nako sa bintana and then asin sad.

And then nagbutang sad ko ug ahos sa atop sa gawas sa bintana then nagsabwag ko ug asin sa atop. We tried to observe for the next couple of days and wala na gyud nibalik ang tunob na sound.
