Kani nga skyline, dapat gyud ni totokan sa atong mga politiko unta. Murag 10 years ago, 5 ra guro ni sila nagbarog ani nga picture unya atong kadalanan mao2 ra except sa SRP which isn't really in the heart of the city.

Now, the skyline has multiplied like 20x? Unya atong dalan mao ra gihapon dungagan pa sa gabaha nga mga sakyanan ug galunop nga mga motorsilo intawn!

ang resulta? 5KM destination = 30 mins! this isn't a good city no more if you ask me.

ang gabaha kay mga sakyanan man ug motor.

everytime I drive, I try to count the # of vehicles with "temporary plates" and I see at least 5 every time and that's traveling 5KM only. At 1 point, during the holidays, I saw more than 20!

    Not to mention the motorcycles.

And yes you're right, political will is the answer.

We can always learn from SG on how they manage their traffic.

Their, owning a vehicle needs a "permit".

Then the permit is limited because they are an island-state after all.

All vehicles have a limited lifespan - 10 years I think.

I know this might sound like anti-poor but then again, there's "good public" transportation for everyone (something Cebu doesn't have yet).

Then there's "color coding" sa sakyanan like in metro manila.

Then of course there's stringent implementation of traffic rules (this will never happen given our CITOM to vehicle ration I think).

Then of course what you've mentioned.

The thing is, Philippine politics is not about "political will". It's about the "singing, dancing, istoryang kataw-anan", etc. Showbiz for short.

    Ergo, we are DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED!

Then again, I still believe we are better off with tomas at least things will happen.

I'll go with Cebu any day. A city with the simplicity and appreciation of the province makes for a nice place to live in.
