huh?? it crashed? i think thats not the cause. my pc is 1 year old with that kind of setting. i changed the qos and zeroed it from 20%.

ok, after almost a month now, no noticeable gain at all. i read somewhere that this is just a myth. the 20% allocation is just trigerred when a specific system service asked for it, i.e. windows update. only and only during that instance that the allocation is given. when not, the system will utilize all bandwidth. i dunno if this is just coincidence but when i upped it back to 10%, a day later or so, i got windows update which didn't happen at all while i had at 0%. again, mine is xp pro. How bout those who adopted this, have you gotten some auto windows update lately? thanks.
