Chevrolet casa pin points the problem to ECM and quote us 90k (wala pa daw cla nagpaganancya, istoryahee) So we decided to have it check by another shop. The car was pulled out by the previous chevrolet @ banilad, they wanted us to replace the fuel pump assembly... why assembly?? I let other shop to check my fuel pump and it was fine, they cleaned the fuel pump strainer. I didn't go for the fuel pump assembly cause I think it is pointless. Now I have to observe my car and hope dli na mo balik ang problem.

anyway, any ideas why assembly and not just the fuel pump or just clean the strainer lng since ok pa man ang fuel pump. They can't give me exact reason why i should replace the entire thing, I'm guessing the reason is ky dli ma kuha ang strainer sa assembly? The other shop cut it and sealed it back.

walay baligya nga fuel pump ra boss kung OEM parts, assembly gyud na, any modification on any part sa imong vehicle will void its warranty, mao nay reason nganong assembly gyud ang i-recommend sa manufacturer, to ensure the vehicle`s safety, it`s a company`s "STANDARDS" thing... kung sa amerika pa if a tragedy (threat to public safety) happened due to the modification of the fuel pump assembly, the shop that modified the part will be sued and will pay for the damage done sa resulta sa ilang gi-modify...talk to my lawyer ang kalabasan hehehe, insurance companies over there have their own investigators and if they find out who`s who fatay ang insurance company na mismo ang mukiha sa shop nganong nahitabo to nga ingon ato... (Blame Game) might as well stick to the Standards....

pangayo refund sa imong 22k... gipangwarta kag maayo unya wa masulbad ang problema.

16k was already refunded, 20k ra man amo na bayran then 80% ra ila g balik.

About the standard and warranty thing, it's out of warranty na since 3 years ra ila warranty. 3 1/2 yrs na ang car.

if it`s out of warranty how about public safety? if the fuel pump fails and in some cases it ignites and cause a public hazard, kinsa may angay i-blame ana boss? but if you repair it according to the manufacturer`s Standards you can always sue back the OEM manufacturer for their faulty or defective product, it`s not about the cost it`s always about legalities and public safety over there...pero murag lahi man ta diri sa pinas, so if you`re wondering nganong assembly2x gyud ilang ipang ilis nga parts tungod na sa manufacturer`s Standards....

Ive been a mechanic over there for 6 years on a private shop and ived sued toyota for 3 times then nissan 2 times kay naay usahay inside job sa mismo service center, mismo sad kami naa mi parts history (part serial number, date installed, etc.) on the government/private vehicles nga musud sa shop on the parts we installed, usahay di na mutukma ang among gipang install aw talk to my lawyer na sad hehehe

tsk tsk.. I've heard a lot of bad feedbacks regarding casa services, how they interchange the parts etc but I don't have a proof on this. I understand the safety and standards, I wont go after them man pud if d nako sundon ilang advice.

I got the car this morning and the problem is still there, nalisod gud kog park ky d ka reverse. I can't blame them ky wa man nako g sunod nga ilisan ang assembly, but what's really the diff of cleaning it and replacing the whole thing aside from safety and standards? That's what i want to know but they cant tell me why.

If I ran out of choice, I'd go for their suggestion to replace the assembly provided that they can guarantee of full refund if the problem won't be solved. It's not that easy to throw away 21k for the assembly nga wala ra may ma himo. Lisod na basin after replacing the assembly then naa pa ang problem, i pin point nya napud sa laing parts.

I think it's not the fuel pump that causes this problem cause and if it is, why reverse only? and on high speed 80kph and up.
Other shops also suspects that the fuel pump isn't the culprit.

Searching google for chevrolet won't reverse give a lot of results. Daghan na gyud nag problema ani. I did not specify nga captiva pero kasagaran similar ra man gud nga technology ang maimplement within one manufacturing company.

wow.. this is very helpful.. I forgot to put chevrolet when searching.
I'll read this links. Thanks you.

I think some problems need to be checked manually rather than relying on computer diagnostrics alone.

try kuno ug disconnect ang wires sa overdrive switch, try lang gud, but im not saying ha nga kana gyud, try lang, pirting buanga namo ato nga trouble, ilis na gyud tanan, (transmission, TCM, ECU, wiring harness) and the problem is still there, as in clueless gyud for 3 days, then I checked kung unsa pa ang wala ma-ilisi, pagdisconnect nako sa overdrive switch, flawless na a transmission shifting, haaaayyyz, it turned out nga corroded na ang contacts sa sulod mismo sa switch, mag uknol2x na dayon ang dagan, try sad ug ilis atong duplicate key niya, aside ana imong gigamit karon, because your key has a built-in transmitter (PATS) it`s a vehicle security thing, naa sad koy nasugatan ani nga issue sauna nga mukalit lag shutdown ang sakyanan when cruising, because pud to sa yawe lang...some problems are that simple mao na nga ma overlook gyud na pirmanente sa mga mechaniko...
