the thing is...budget and preparation on the shoot is determined by the number of participants.Originally Posted by radiostar
if say 10 are expected to go then say budget is at 1500 each for logistics, food, models, makeup, venue, etc.
you dont book just one model if their are 10 or 15 photogs...magaway! you dont book 5 models if their are only 5 photogs coz it would be too expensive and defeats the purpose of bonding/sharing. you cant hire just one makeup artist to fix up 5 models in a timely fashion. etc. etc. too many variables.
now what happens if half end up coming to the activity. will those 5 people participating pay double? 3k each. since we already booked twice the number of models...twice the preparation other wise needed...twice the alotment for everything since we expected twice the number of turnouts. what happens then?
now what is 3 out of the 5 people left can't afford the 3k budget on the last min. or they didnt bring enough cash. then what? cancel the whole thing?
those who kept their word to attend will suffer because of those who dont make it...
and you cant let the models/artist/etc. suffer either...you can't just cancel them on the day coz of fewer turnout than expected...
not to mention the one organizing the whole thing. calling all them favors. booking and planning everything ahead. all that effort wasted because a few participants didnt show up. hmmm, would you like that responsibility? would you like to organize this uncertain activity and shoulder it if it flops?
please say yes and il support you...

sakto gyud sila pre ! lisud gyud kaau mag-organize og club nga expensive kaau ang tools and other expenses . .. on the other hand i think we can somewhat organize a less expensive club, kana bisan very ordinary lang au ang tools and equipment like a regular point and shoot camera.. ako mismo interesado sa hobby, pero di ko ka afford sa kamahal sa mga expenses .. i think pwede ta magstart lang og landscape photography, or anything na di ma-involve og dako nga expense, ang importante makalaag laag ta og nindot nga location, then makashare ta sa ato mga nalearn... basta khumvati kaau ko ana imo nahuna hunaan pre... i hope naa pud daghan masupportOriginally Posted by SamuraiArcher
mas nindot unta start something small... like landmarks dire sa cebu... at least walay gastohan... then mo upgrade to na.ay model and etc...
just my 2 cents
bitaw.. apil2 lang ko ani.. hehehe.. i'd like to learn jd
you're right bro ... diri lang sa ta sa cebu magsugod ... unya later pagmedyo makatigum pwede ta maventure out ... basta let's keep in mind the budget lang una ... then mag-improvise lang gud ta og mga equipments to save on the budget .... i hope daghan mainterested para masugdan na og organize ang clubOriginally Posted by radiostar

even how small, naa gyud gyapon gastos...di gyud na mawala ang gastos...
clubs are run by money and dedication of the members...
without one or the other, a club can't survive.
specifically photography/camera clubs...ive been part of so many and in cebu only images camera club survived the test of time to this day(more than 20 years already). all other local photography/camera clubs in cebu are inactive or have disolved over the years. images survived because of dedicated members, ample membership fees with each member able and willing to cash out on every activity.
bottomline im not willing to shoulder it...
so ill support you (help in organizing, planning, etc)...if you are willing to shoulder the responsibility...
btw, just to recap, IPC (istorya.net photo club) was setup with "less expense" and more benifit to members in mind...ordinary camera p&s cameras were welcome...even those who are intrested in photography but didnt own thier own cameras were welcome to join...but because it was operating with lack of funds, its now dead in the water...

if you're up for the budget, try mr. bien fernandez for a one on one tutorial. try asking for him at saint theresa's college. he teaches photography class there. he was also a pioneering instructor at bigfoot entertainment.
or if you're up for a crash course, maybe i could provide some assistance in contacting him. he was one of the primary sponsors during my wedding. i'll try asking for his professional fee.
