I actually support this kind of answer. Life is a bit harsh and we sometimes have huge to take huge sacrifices in order to acquire something we like. This is also probably why I'll never attach myself on videogames up to the point where in becomes an addiction or feels something like it. I take time on other hobbies apart from videogames like reading a book or jamming with bandmates, hang out with friends etc. Unlike today's generation is somewhat flawed Kids these days tend to just force their parents to get them videogames, stay indoors and play play play. I got young cousins and nephews/nieces who who don't even know what a takyan or POG's is or how to play japanese2x Sad. Really sad.
I still also support my answer on this question (found on the 1st page) I personally don't see this much of a problem. Like I said, depende ra diskarte na siya. Dili man gyud angay lalison gyud. Dili man sad nga angay mupugos tag mudula unsay iya decision gud, basta kamao lang ang mudula sa mga advantages/disadavantages, other alternatives or consequences ania iya buhat. If there are such consequences that would befall on a gamer then it's his/her loss. Mau ra.
I'm not advocating piracy. but im also against bullying and discrimination. daghan paagi nga maka-save and that means sometimes getting your hands dirty. i try games through non legal ways and actually buy them if i like it.
yes life is harsh, but that doesn't give anyone the right to judge.
everyone is free to voice their opinion, but it makes my blood boil to see arrogant posts, kanang post nga murag kinsa ka dako nga tawo abi kay para ra isog lantawon?

Well, posting about it before anyone actually said anything kind of set it up
Oracle: I'd ask you to sit down, but, you're not going to anyway. And don't worry about the vase.
Neo: What vase?
[Neo turns to look for a vase, and as he does, he knocks over a vase of flowers, which shatters on the floor]
Oracle: That vase.
Neo: I'm sorry...
Oracle: I said don't worry about it. I'll get one of my kids to fix it.
Neo: How did you know?
Oracle: Ohh, what's really going to bake your noodle later on is, would you still have broken it if I hadn't said anything?

Ok... here's my view. It's been said before it hurts the industry.
Why is it there aren't many video rental stores anymore? Well, why rent something for an overnight flick when for about 40 pesos more you can get a pirated version that would be yours to keep or even download from the internet for free?
I was with a group that started working on a game because we loved games. We were invited by Microsoft to make a game for Windows 8 so that it could be showcased when Windows 8 finally launched.
We made a demo of the game for Microsoft to evaluate and they loved it and saw great potential in that game.
Guess what? Windows 8 launched last month... and our game with all that potential? It's in limbo.
We put a lot of work into this... we had awesome artist making characters and environments. I was designing the levels, the gameplay, and interface. We had programmers who eat code for breakfast.
But in the long run and months that followed, we lost the drive and motivation. We had all hoped this would be something we could all leave our current jobs for. Some of us had bought new gear to work with. We worked months with no pay.
But we're people. We have bills to pay. I have a family with two girls in school.
Some of us got caught up in the other jobs we had to keep to survive. And the returns we saw were little.
There have been talks that piracy is also causing the spiraling quality of games being put out. Because there's little returns to justify the investment in development.
"Yeah, but there are still epic games coming out," you say. But these are coming from the big guys who have the big bucks to buffer against the losses from piracy.
But how many of the "next best thing" didn't make it because the up-and-coming game studio just couldn't survive anymore?

But isn't it arrogant as well to pirate something that somebody worked for?
The flipside of the coin is that it destroys our values. We want something. We're going to get it now.
Because I can't afford the game I want I'm going to pirate it. No patience... no values.
But I can't afford it!
Play it next year instead when the price has gone down. Or wait for a big sale like Black Friday or Cyber Monday. Check istorya for people selling second hand games.
But I want to play it now!
Then do something... take on an extra job, do overtime.
But I'm just a kid!
Then sell lemonade on the street.
Buying a game puts value into it. You bought it... you worked your butt off for that game... you are going to enjoy and cherish it more.
But what if I bought a game and find out it's really crappy?
Because you didn't do your homeworkRead game reviews... play the demo first.
