SUPPORT UPDATES 09JAN13
For those who worry about bringing a bag full of AA batteries for their remote. Here is one mod option that you can make to extend your play time and reduce the hassle of changing batteries often. This may also be a cheaper option than buying those high performance alkaline batteries. A little heavy on the pocket though for the first cost of the battery pack but this will just be one time. If you maintain the battery pack well, it will serve its purpose for years.
I removed the rib / separators of the AA size battery from the compartment. Cut the wires from the terminal and solder those to the battery connector that will match that of the new battery pack. Be
EXTRA CAREFUL in connecting the new battery and make sure polarity is correct. Else, you will fry your controller.
Here I am using an 11.1V 2200mAH LiPo pack. You can use any packs as long as the terminal voltage wont exceed 12V and of course, it can fit the compartment.
After this modification, all you need to monitor is the battery pack mounted in your battle tanks. Enjoy the hobby everyone and hopefully you can come up with some battlefield simulation events sometime soon.
