denying one's self is possible and essential bro..if we associate ourselves with the evil thoughts and desires in us...
even Jesus said diba to deny ourselves, take up our cross and folliw Him..
but if we say that denying ourselves through not hoping anymore or not desiring what is desirable in the eyes of God..
    that is another story..

the key to every success is to have a vision.mission and goal...and that is to desire...

desire packed with pride, anxiety, insecurity cguro imu pasabut nga makadaut...
and that kind of desire is clearly and totally has to be denied.

the most sure way to be happy is humility..
now if you equate humility to having no desire..that is not necessarily correct.

is choosing not to hope or desire to avoid ill feelings of frustration
    a form of humilty?
kung kabalo ka mukanta and of course loves singing, dayun di ka muapil ug singing contest kay di ka ganahan ma frustrated or mapildi..
does that show humility? i see pride.
mao gani i remove ang want para happiness lng

"i want happiness" - remove "i", remove "want" = happiness

i - ego, opposite is humility
    want - desire

humility and no desire for true/complete happiness

sa imong statement "want to be happy", dapat i remove ang "want" para di siya desire, what's left "to be happy", you are happy without any condition, full/complete happiness

nice example, with humility, you are nothing, since you are nothing, you don't feel frustrated, you will not be sad, nothing gud ka, you are less important, or you are not important, kung mapildi ka wa lng, you are not sad, happy gihapon ka, kung mudaog ka aw pwerteng lipaya, kakuha ka? humility is without ego/pride

the main goal here bro is true happiness, which can only be attained when there is no ego and no desire, if you desire for the best and only better or good imong nakuha, then your happiness is not complete, ky best baya imong gi desire

when you have no desire for good, better or best, kung good lng imong nakuha, happy na ka, how much more kung better or best pa gyud

true happiness is without ego, and without desires

    sakto2 bro thanks.

i was thinking about denying one's self as total detachment of our own self coz that;s the goal of buddhism man gud. like what Buddha did!

desire with the right attitude bro...when we fail to get that desire..we are faced with 2 options...
to stop and get frustrated or to continue and run the race...
if there is no desire then there will no race in the first place...

the concept of taking out "I" for it is ego and "want" for it is desire...
that is an idiom bro and not to be taken literally
it would rather mean to Have the right desire(not a selfish one) packed with hope and humility(in the sense that everything is possible and not within our control)...though the risk of failing is there but in failures we learn
and how a person would react to that failure mirrors to what kind of desire(egoistic or not) was there to begin with.

you said the goal is to attain true happiness...
how can a goal exist if there was no desire in the dirst place?

kung gusto jud kag tinuoray nga kalipay that will lasts for eternity? heehe.

anyway, nice pud na nga desire in order to be happy. Pero usahay ma self-centered lang ang taw.,

simple ra gyud kaayo bro, no ego, no desire = happiness

ang imo bro, "nag process pa ka", you're doing something para ma happy ka, by your desires, ang kaning isa "happy naka" by having no ego, and having no desires

the goal is true happiness, and that can only be achieved if there is no ego, and no desires

what is your goal? your desire or your happiness?

2 questions for you bro, please answer them accordingly.
is having no desire equal with humility?
before one puts up a goal, what comes first?
    thanks..
