I just read your previous post and yes if money is an issue, try to get a decent point & shoot with manual settings and then start shooting.

As for now your budget might be limited, time will come that you will ask for more. Get a Canon EOS 30D, 5D... or at least an EOS 400D / Nikon D80 or D200... I've been there Miss. Because of LIMITED BUDGET I bought an Olympus E-300, but after a while I got a 350D, bought some lenses (including 70-200 2.8 IS), then sold my E-300 for a lower price (of course) and got myself a better EOS 30D.Originally Posted by Capoeira Chic

yeah, agree jud ko ni CrasHBURN, ur better off getting a decent starter DSLR kit.. or ull be hard pressed to upgrade later if u got limited budget in the first place..Get a better one now or spend more later.
if you wanna learn photography (not just point and shoot)...
and get creative...if you want more for less...
get the A series canon instead of the ixus....
A6xx, A7xx are great options with good manual controls...

getting a DSLR later doesnt mean you'll be wasting money on the Aseries coz its still small enough to be handy were you can bring it anywhere everyday to take those spontaneous snaps. also great backup camera in the end diba
if you can cash out more than 40k then go for the 400D. else, the Aseries is it for you
D40 i think is already phased out...in just 4-5month but its true...

I agree with Mark.. That's how I got started in photography. I started with my A620, learned the basics and then got my 400D.
mark is right. go for the A series instead of the ixus. i own an a520. its been my foto buddy for 2 yrs now. & im not considering disposing it when i get my hands to my dslr (soon)
400d is a great cam with its integrated cleaning system.. how i wish canon made it an IS, ccd shift maybe.. para tanan lens nimo image stab na...
D40 might be phase out soon since there is already an upgraded version, d d40x.
If i can save much this summer, im planing to get D80 or 400d. but if dili, i might settle sa d40 na lang...
anyways, its not all about the gear...but skill
whatever camera you use, always remember this...it's always about the Indian and not the Pana. As your skill grows...yes, you have got to upgrade your pana, too.
But at the end of the day, it is STILL about the Indian.
Hmmm.... I guess, Canon Powershot A460 could be my camera... Mark, i might as well buy your camera as soon as i have the money... May i ask for the location of your store?
Thank you everyone for the help... Once i get my camera.. i will join your Photography club.
