tamblot @Airosus: is your set up for office or for internet cafe?
INTERNET cafe bro..

i can remember airosus was asking for a brand of switch that we can suggest for his network.
Then here comes a suggestion for an all-in-one traffic/link management system.
Hey, lets focus on the issue that our fellow istoryan needs to clarify.
We are dealing with network connectivity here.
i believe juantamad has a point. if you are after for fast internet connection airosus, go for the guaranteed bandwith subscription. It doesn't matter if its from globe, pldt, etc. as long as its a guaranteed bandwith. If they say that your connection has a guaranteed speed and you experience slow downs then better find another ISP that could meet your needs.
As for connectivity of your computers, gigabit (10/100/1000) switch can provide you enough speed. There are small office gigabit switches available in the market. D-Link and Linksys gigabit switches are affordable.
Initially, you can utilize your exisisting or built in 10/100 cards. Just make sure that the switch you buy is 10/100/1000 not a pure 1000Mbps. The switch will only adjust to your computer speed. Later if you feel going to gigabit then just upgrade your NICs.
Well, has anybody has an idea how much AIRlok appliance cost?
Airlok would be a lot cheaper than buying your Cisco gear....
As I said I'm not asking Airosus to buy the airlok networking solutions...It was just an example of a cheaper gear that can compete with the likes of Cisco which you would like Airosus to buy....
With regards to Gigabit switch there is no performace benefits that can be obtained compared with a 100mbps switch...Airosus uses it for an internet cafe....If you are moving video(Mpeg 4 or WMV9) 3-D images or Scientific data then Gigabit switching will help...
I already said that to Airosus to get an ISP with service level guarantee and with less subscribers...Please read my previous post....
All unmanage switches are commodities like RAM, Hard drive, LCD, Lan Card they are made the same way with not much difference...When you go for a brand name you are paying for the brand not the gear....Choose well
I suggest a 100mbps switch will do paired with 100mbps LAN card....Don't get 100mbps Hub...
@Tamblot read my previous post so I won't repeat and repeat....

whats your switch brand bro?
As I said switches nowadays are commodity look for balance price and quality...
Airosus I think you should start cleaning all your PCs they may have lots of spywares already eating up your broadband speed...I suggest using Spy cleaner Gold....Spyware slows down the connection by always staying connected to their servers....Kill them and you free up bandwidth...

I agree with you on that.
I believe you have your own computer network now. Whats the brand of the switch you are using?
Zirv tnan PC kay bago man,.
just check to be sure....daghan man kaayo spyware and malware makuha sa internet...nya dali pa kaayo..
para mamonitor nmo mga application nagdagan sa imo pc bro try nmo i-download ang Process Explorer V9.0 sa www.sysinternals.com
