sakto kaayo. Remove this useless subject. Kids learn tagalog from those cheesy soap operas and noontime shows anyway. "Barirala'' and "panitikan" are as useful as learning snowboarding in a tropical island.

Science, the key to progress and innovation, na hinuon ang ila tantangun. Tsk tsk.

tangtanga nang sibika at kultura, Filipino, and MAPEH. Focus on the core subjects: English (reading and writing), Math, and Science. Aside from the fact that those subjects spark curiousity and promote critical thinking, those are the only subjects that have any practical use when our kids enter college and later on hunt for jobs.

It is not surprising that our children these days will become future CONFUSED children. Different administration, different educational system. A hodge podge of different system that have not been fully developed (similar to our own favorite dessert, halo-halo).First there was BACKWARD DESIGN, an educational system which the US used (and even until now has not fully seen its potentials and drawbacks.) Our officials in the education department saw it as a vehicle to further learning and teaching. So, for years now, teachers have been invited by mostly book publishers so they could entice them to buy their UBD(Understanding By Design)-based system. (Shouldn't the government come up with their own training and not just let the book publishers hold such seminars?)I personally have been in not only one but too many seminars of such kind. At the end of the day, I always find myself wondering why I ever immerse myself in those. When I was made to "echo" what I learned there, for some reason, I couldn't. Because I myself am CONFUSED. (Imagine our students in school who do not care about what kind of design they are taught but that they would get by with one meal each day.)

And then this...K+12. Another nonsense. I have nothing personal about the officials. I sincerely hope that most of them really get to the matter of this. There is really nothing logical about it. Why add another ladder to the almost collapsing rung of our levels? Is it a solution to the real problem? As of present, there are still public schools all over the country which lacked classrooms and teachers.

Yes, they are trying to be nationalistic, incorporating Filipino in the subjects but they must remember that using ENGLISH as a medium in the classrooms was once their own program to promote globalization among the schools. They're trying to take out Science. For what? I'd prefer they take out Filipino, especially since one does not really need it when he reaches college. Sad to say, Civics and Culture or Social Studies are now in Filipino. Imagine History in a different language which they are not really familiar with.

I suggest they start with what is already established and take it from there. If they want the children to be nationalistic, then they should provide them with opportunities to be one. I do hope they won't take drastic measures as these.

I believe in the potential of the Filipino youth. Given more opportunities coupled with discipline, they can be at their best.

Dili tingali. Basin if taga-Cebu ka, in school tudlu-an tingali ka ug Cebuano other than sa English ug Filipino. Hiligaynon sa mga Ilonggo, Waray pra sa tga-Samar ug Pangasinense sa Pangasinan.

if what you're saying is true, and the current crop of politicians are the result of that system, then DepEd certainly wants to perpetuate the result and isolate the thinking generation. Dang. . . .

This is plain wrong! Science should be included on the curriculum as early as possible. And why are we still having a Filipino subject? Haven't they realize or see what happens after a student graduates in college? There is no Filipino in call centers!

Para nako much better wagtangon ng mga subject nga samok samok lang sa mga tuition like

    sa elementary ug high school
    PILIPINO
    HELE
    HISTORY
    MAPE

    Sa college
    ENGLISH
    PILIPINO
    HISTORY
    PE
    UG UBAN PA.
