i dont listen or care for them at present. those were from my high school years when heavy metal was still in the mainstream. i have lost or given away all my underground tapes from which i bought from a record bar named primrose.

.. hehehehe, the almighty primrose. yeah, those were the days. Me, i never did lose touch with the bands of those days coz for me, they are the pioneers of the genre. They're the REAL DEAL. And Morbid Angel is one of them. This band kicks arse both musically and lyrically.

they are professional musicians but for me, their music(obituary and morbid angel) sound amateurish. same goes with cannibal corpse. i have listened to their songs and watched their videos before but the only band that satisfied me was only deicide.

lyrics from death metal music are silly and OA as in ogie alcasid . only deicide has satisfied my taste because they have good variations in their music form their album unlike morbid angel whose most songs in the album are quite the same aside from deicide's vocalist has also more demonic voice than that of morbid angel's

obviously, you are just fascinated and i think you can't just get enough of glen benton's voice. you shouldnt call yourself a "death metal fan" if your taste is only up to deicide because of the frontman's voice.. dont go off criticizing death metal pioneers such as MORBID ANGEL and CANNIBAL CORPSE...... AMATEURISH lol you're just a poser.... in fact you shouldnt be in this thread.. and what songs do you know from DEICIDE anyway? i guess only the popular ones right? like CHILDREN OF THE UNDERWORLD... BIBLE BASHER... ONCE UPON.. lol i believe you dont even know all of their songs...

because of deicide i was a short time death metal fan hehehe. i have listened to many death metal bands like carcass, mortification, broken hope, ect... but only deicide satified me. i even borrowed a video entitled "death is just the beginning" but it didnt satisfy my expectations. i could barely remember any song from c.corpse and m. angel because their songs in their album sounds the same unlike deicide. for me, theyre not creative. and youre right, "childern of the underworld" and "once upon a cross" are my favorite death metal songs. i like the sound of its crunchy guitars, i even recorded them in a tape that contains my favorite songs from metallica, pantera, yngwie malmsteen, black sabbath, etc... my interest in death metal was history when i saw a music video in mtv headbangers from an unknown band named korn with their song "blind". a few weeks after, the tape was availble in primrose and immediately brought it. i shared it with my classmates and most of them liked the album because it was something new and heavy. before i forgot, there's also a big factor that i stayed away from death metal music, my crush dont like death metal music lolz =)

even a grade 2 section 12 night can understand the lyrics of morbid angel bro hehehe. you dont need to use your imagination to understand their lyrics. i prefer the lyrics from metallica because there from the composer's imagination. there not always talking about God or the devil which i find silly but again, i dont dig to the lyrics from a song. i dont care if the lyrics are good or bad as long as they are pleasant to my ears.

i agree with what jantux said. if you dont like Morbid Angel's music at least give them the respect they deserve. we all know that they're one of the pioneers of true death metal! so if i were you i will stop arguing with these guys around here, you'll just lose. naa raba si Trey Azagthoth (shredding god) diri sa cebu basin adliban unya ka ato! lolx


ps: "where the slime lives" is an incredible song with one of my favorite solos of all time.
